Overview

The Hydra compeition is a six week team event spanning all three of the RhyDin dueling sports. Points are earned via performance in regulation duels with bonuses award through special events, tournaments, challenges and rank advancements. No special scheduling is required, but that doesn't mean there is no place for strategy.

Team Makeup

Each team shall consist of 5 duelists and no duelist may be on the roster of more than a single team. Teams must officially register with the Hydra Corporation at the main office.

Please take OOC note that no player may have more than 2 characters in the competition

Roster Changes

Team Captains may elect to change their roster at any time, dropping one duelist and picking up another, provided their roster continues to contain five duelists. Roster changes will become official at the beginning of the next dueling week. eg: If the change is made during week 2, the new duelist will begin scoring points for the team in week 3.

Free Agents

In the event a team member will be unavailable for a week, a team may pick up a free agent to fill that duelist's place. Notice must be submitted to Hydra Corp. before the week begins. In such a situation the free-agent's regulation duel points will count towards the team score for the week rather than the rostered duelist's.

The 1 character on a team per player rule continues to apply, so you may not have an alt FA for a team you are on.

Scoring of Regulation Duels

Duels fought during regulation dueling will be worth potential points to both the winner and the loser of the duel. Points per duel work as follows:
  • Duel Win: 5 + the difference in score, to a maximum of 10.
  • Duel Loss: The number of points scored in the duel, to a maximum of 4
  • Duel Tie: The number of points scored in the duel, to a maximum of 5
Note that this could vary if a special week is declared and sanctioned by Hydra Corp., such as a DoM twin win week

Each duelist's top four duels as determined by the above scoring breakdown will be applied to the team and individual scoring totals. As such, Hydra competitors should attempt to duel at least four times a week and may duel more than that in an attempt to achieve higher value top duels.

In the event not all duelist's on a team are able to achieve four duels in a given week, one extra duel per duelist may be scored to the team's point total. Note that this extra duel will count towards the team's weekly score but not towards the duelist's individual tally.

Note that duels between two members of the same team will not be counted towards competition points.

* Jake's best 4 duels total 27, so he scores 27 and brings the team up to 61
* Xanth's best 4 duels total 24, so he scores 24 and brings the team up to 85
