Summer smiles reading all the support (2) she gets and then sits down and writes at the dented table where Foxy slammed her dirk. The serving lads scampers about her, washing up the vomit from the over zealous duelists the eve before, and scrubbing out the slime left by some of the more interesting fighters. Sitting up with a smile she saunters to the board and tacks up a short note.
TO ALL OF TA DOS:
I have been here for a bit of time, and have studies ta ways and means of ta officials, and ta people that make this such a grand place. After deep rumination, I have reached the following well thought out collisions:
Married folk be the back bone of any society - even in ta DoS. A marriage be more than about just love and honoring. It be about sharing. Every thing that I have me Jeff has; and it be ta same for him. If ta manor burns down we all be homeless. If ta Helix fine him out of all his worldly goods; it be all OUR worldly goods.
If Married folk have to share ta fines; why nae they can share ta benefits. If me Jeff chooses ta share a itty bitty percent of his paltry wins with ta one that share her life with him, what be wrong with that? It be noble, it be honorable - it be a token of his love and commitment to our marriage.
Furthermore, me Jeff say often he lay down his life ta protect us, our family. He have offered ta lay down his Baron rings, well one of them, he have all but walked out of a challenge match - just to protect me, his wife. If a man be willing to do that, should he not be allowed ta share ta wealth of his achievements with his wife?
Therefore:
Those who agree that sharing WoLs between old married folk be a sign that ta DoS be a civilized place. That allowing the sharing of ALL things, good and bad, mean it be a place committed ta honoring, nae, glorifying ta power of ta commitment between two people; please state your support on this board. Just a yea and a signature is all that is needed.

Summer Oakenshield,
While the idea holds merit of kindness and sharing, it rings of err. In the Duel of Swords, the Wins over Losses ratio is one of many ratings which rank the skill of a duelist. To allow one to "share" WoL would result in Warlords and Warladies whom are actually simply Commoners. Marriage would have the possibility to take on a more cynical purpose.
Let us concoct an example. A dozen years in the future, a young duelist is scanning the halls of legends and notes one Summer Oakenshield the first female duelist to gain 100 WoL. This young duelist smiles in awe and inspiration at this and thus reveres Summer for her achievement. Little does our young duelist know, that Summer was given 100 WoL. They are meaningless figments in reality and have no signification of her time spent in the sport or
her skill. What are WoL besides such a signifying display?
Not only do I believe the sharing of WoL to be appalling, I would be further disgusted by anyone who would request or even accept such a gift.

I sincerely hope your just being silly and having some fun with your idea, which as a person I found kind of cute. As a dueler of the old school I am slightly appalled as well, and am for once inclined to agree with Baron Lupton for the first time in a long time on this issue.
Let me remind you of our first woman Overlord, married to former Overlord Xenograg, the Lady Amaltea Darelir. She was steadfast on making her own reputation as a woman and as a dueler in these rings and wanted to never live off what Xenograg himself had personally achieved. If you want the true model of a good civilized family within these rings, then the Darelirs are the prime and best example. And to some respects as a personal note, god help
me if my Kensai Xenograg hears this, but I always thought Amaltea was the better duelist between them both.
If people keep saying WoLs don't matter as to a person's skill or their effect on the rings Arena of Swords, then why bother sharing them anyway. The most you really need is about 15-20 to attain the highest rank achievable by WoLs, and descently maintain it. If you can't manage to get at least that much on your own, then frankly to be honest you shouldn't be that rank. For all of Jeff's WoLs he gains or losses as they case may be, they do
nothing for him except some noriety of his length of time and frequency of his better percentage dueling.
If you truely want to share in your Jeff's dueling career, then defend his ring a couple of times, or be the Overlord's Champion a few times. Then maybe I could possibly conteplate the potential in getting to share his WoLs. But I doubt it even then.
Still a cute idea. If it ever had come to pass, maybe Ecore could have gotten married too. At least someone would have wanted him for his WoLs since he had no other redeeming qualities.

Or just set up a group marriage deal. After all, if a monogamous relationship is allowed, what about a foursome marriage? And after that, what about a clan? After all, if its a family commitment you want, blood relatives it strong enough. Iffn, godds forbid, Summer choses to leave Jeff, does she have to give them back? Or will there now be "pre-nups" about them? I won't even start on the ten-day 'love you forevers'.

It's a good thought, but it unfortunately would be a paperwork nightmare for poor Helix, what with all the marriages, divorces and remarriages. However, married couples share the lack thereof. Maybe, it would just be love, if one were to be proud of their spouse's success. Also, there are some families with children.
This means Summer, you and Charlie could both have 100 wins over losses, and Jeff could still have over 200 Wins over losses.
However, sometimes, people loan friends money, do they not? When a friend is in need to vent, they think they can safely vent to their friends...
If we allow spouses to share wins with spouses, then friends should share wins with friends. Having this rule would probably make some people actually look to those with a lot of wins over losses, and think, "Hey, if I marry him/her, she might even give me some wins" (Note, this is not directed at anyone, just a fact. There are some who use others). You marry people for love, not money, wins over losses, or a nice house.
