Time to say(Red)

Red paced in front of the board again, the paper held in her hand
growing more crimpled with each pass.

"It needs to be done.", her voice was bear above a whisper. Her
free hand brushed down the front of her mid-rift shirt, over the image
of "The Tick". It was her "special" shirt and freshly washed, her
saddle bags for her Harley were waiting for her by the door.

Her hand moved upward and combed back the unruly burgandy
tresses, her foresty green eyes held more sorrow than had been seen
for some time...seen by none now though.

"Done is done...", softer yet, "And it's done." with that she pinned
the post up with a Dr. Suess emblem and walked away. Without looking
back once she gathered her bags and exited the arena.

~~~~
To everyone that might know of me,
And to those that know me well enough to flee
At the sight of Boris or my dartgun
Just to let you know, hey, it's been fun
To those, I say goodbye.
::reading the posts with Delilah astride his shoulders, coming to Red's post, his casual chuckles at the typical buffoonery pause, and trail away...::
::Delilah, pouting as her daddy stops bouncing her, leans foward to look at him.. :: Da-ddy... ::she whines in her best juvenile "nagging" tone, wiggling to get his attention::
::Perri smiles lightly, bouncing her lightly, reading Red's lines over, and over again::
<q> Goodbye, Red.. we'll miss you.
::he reaches up to tousle Delilah's hair, and she giggles delightly, never one to lose her smiles and innocent good cheer, even in the midst of sadness::
::Sighs softly, shaking her head.:: And so we lose another one. Well, at least the women know how to say goodbye, unlike so many of the men...
::Quickly she pens a note, leaving it unsigned, and moves on.::
I will miss you Red, even if someone obviously didn't.
He was not a complete soul. In fact, Verceterix Gavin Favre's own soul had been slowly and painfully torn away from him in the past months. His return only brought about more pain as that feeling of being incomplete caused the loss of his marriage, and the only person who had both so utterly taken his heart, and the only person he had ever truly given his heart to.
And upon reading the note, another piece of himself was gone. He had hoped and prayed that one day he would rediscover that which his unforseen journey had taken from him, and that would lead to the rejoining with the woman whom he'd loved so dearly. But with the reading of the poem posted to the cork board, Rix's hopes of recapturing that which he had lost were all but shattered.
His fingertips trailed down the writing, and his eyes closed. Rix stood silently in that position for a long moment, and he wept. He then moved on, no words left behind as he could find none worthy enough to express his feelings . . .
Red~
I can't say I don't understand. You've been through hell here lately. I wish you could stay to see how well I try to match your ability at running a team (if next season *ever* comes around, that is), but I know how it feels to need to move on.
Safe travels, dearie.
