Just two quick points...
1. I'm surprised how far dis topic has gone, but I don't see why da fear of marryin' fer WoLs concerns anyone, Summer suggested da "giving" of WoLs, not taking. A husband would have ta give his wife his wins freely out of love, or vice versa.
2. I wouldn't give Summer 100 WoLs. I would give Summer ALL of my WoLs and earn dem back, as I don't have ta keep up any certain record as a baron. And me Charlie is too young ta duel, I'll give her whatever I earn when she gets older :-)

Summer saunters back into the arena, the glow of Topaz and Krollon's joining still an aura of sweet memories about her. Yawns and notices a huge stack of notes tacked to her petition. Pulls all of them down from the board, her fingers impatiently sorting through them as she flops down into an empty chair and props her dirty boots unto a table.
A quick smile flashes across her face as Jeff mentions adoption then looks down at her flat belly thinking that perhaps, if Charlie be needing a sibling it might not be a bad way to go about it. Marcus sets down a Petes in front of Summer, and her conviction hardens. Nine months of milk is enough to make any woman want to adopt.
Grinning she places Percival on her favorite duelers list as she tosses it into the Aye pile. Then she scowls, her boots sliding off the table to read through Loopy's long letter. Turning it over she scribbles almost illegibly:
Loopy,
It be a gift I say, nae nothing cylindrical about it at all. Ya think ta WoLs just be a meaningless feathering of a peacock's tail? Well, mayhap, being able to bestow them upon ta one ya cherish turn that around.
So mayhap ya be satisfied if they be tagged as a gift, ta flowers that me Jeff gave to me, nurtured by his sweat in ta ring. Mayhaps it be his kiss ta me, his show of affection and need, of reminding me that for every minute he spend with his ax in his hand, his heart and thoughts be with me?
Ta refuse such a gift would be appalling,
Summer
She tosses down the letter in the nae pile and picks up Ally's laughing. Her script a bit neater as she pens:
Ally luv,
I be a bit distracted, but that win be fair and well earned. Girlie, ya drove me inta ta ground!
S
Summer makes a fresh pile for the maybes, and takes a long pull on her Petes. Picking up Onyx's note Summer squints murmuring softly to herself, "I hae ta get her ta carve some toys for our Charlie. Mayhaps a set of Baron's for her ta teeth on."
Chuckling she scrawls at the bottom of Onyx's note:
Who say I did nae?
S
Rubbing her eyes, Summer tosses it into the Nae pile then picks up the next note, recognizing Baphe's formal seal. Wincing, her memory long, she carefully reads it, surprised and pleased by the friendly tone of his dismissal of her idea. She carefully sets the letter down to think. Marcus quietly drops off some bread and cheese for her. Distractedly she tears off a piece of bread and pops it into her mouth, the crumbs scattering and sticking on
the wax. Leans forward, writing in her best script:
Baphe,
I nae being silly. It nae be about fun. It be about honesty and truth in me life and it be interesting ta see ya and ta Loopy sitting on ta same side of ta tavern.
Luv, ya think I nae share in me Jeff's dueling career? Then ya can tell ya never been married. I gave birth ta our Charlie in Turi's ring. I have sat and watched and defended him at every turn. There be nothing I nae do for him, for he hae given me his heart and it brings me life with every precious beat.
Every challenge, I be worried over him. Once he got hurt in ta Outback: sometimes ta ropes do nae work well on one of ta Dwarven stock. Now for an unmarried one, as yaself, it may be difficult ta understand. Marriage be nae just about love and flowers. It be about trust, about always being at ya mans back.
Mayhaps I remind ya Baphe, when me Jeff joined ya house, ya demanded that I be forced ta leave ta Talendor. Ya say it nae be fitting for him ta marry one in another House. Me Jeff went ta me, he asked me: it be ta worst moment in me life for ta Talendor be ta first ta ever ask me ta be a part of anything. I told me Jeff I would nae leave, and if it cost him our marriage, I take ta cost. He refused ta budge.
Ta next day he went ta ya and said he prefer ta leave ta Lathadoscia, while I went ta Gnort and Prin and told them I hae ta leave. We nae tell each other about our plans, we just did it.
That be love Baphe.
Summer
Summer sighs as she tosses the letter into the Nae pile, picking up Raiy's sure of his support and adding another to the Yea. Her anticipation melts into a shocked bark of laughter:
RAIY,
That be deadly! Me Jeff nae be a pit bull ta be bred for show! Now I already talked ta Golden about selling me Jeff's WoLs and he be thinking on it. We figure he could get a cut for brokering. But this be nae t' we discussing here!
And what be misrepresenting about this? Ya nae think me blade could defend ta sweat of me Jeff?
Summer
Tosses Raiy into the Nae pile, her eyes traveling to Sid's defense of her Jeff. "Ta lass hae a heart as big as Morn's Ring of Cow." Places it in the maybe pile and continues, taking another drink from her Petes. Spots Var's familiar writing and grins, "Now this be a man who knows about commitment in a marriage." Her mouth opens stunned, her writing sloppy and quick at the bottom:
Var!
When hae ya friends ever been what ya Noelle be ta ya? Ya share ya blood with ya friends, ya share ya life with ya friends? If it be on ta same level as ya lover, ta woman who bore ya children, then I be shocked. But I KNOW that is nae ta case.
I just come from a wedding, a joining of ta Topaz and ta Kroyllen. Ya think they commit to ta headaches and heartaches a marriage can bring just so they could exchange a few wins? Var, I know ya know better.
Summer
Regretfully tosses it into the nae pile then runs a hand to smooth back her messy braid. Gasps softly to herself seeing Jeff's note, "Aww luv, everything ya give always be with ta freedom of ya heart. All of them? And then ya go ready some for our Charlie?" Her dark green eyes sparkle as she folds the note and puts it in her vest thinking to discuss this with him later. Bites her lip, and withdraws it tossing it into the Aye pile, her pride
wanting to share Jeff's gift with everyone.
Summer cheers up as she happily deposits Seamus, Prin, and Eldy's notes into the Aye pile wiggling her hips to flash her pink boxers against the back of her chair. As Marcus fetches her another Petes she adds Thor's love note to Prin's murmuring softly, "See ta magic be workin' already."
Reads Sid's thoughts and takes her out of the Maybe and tosses both pieces of paper into the Nae stack. After a moment, leans over and scrawls at the bottom of Sid's:
Luv,
Since when hae we tied up love because of paperwork? This be about more than a few slips of addition and subtraction, it be about honor.
S
Summer picks up Aja's and the unsigned note. Tosses them both into the Aye pile with a soft shimmy of her shoulders, "Now these be two who hae been touched by love."
Standing with a tired shrug, her takes the newly arranged notes back up to the board, "6 Aye, 5 Nae. Me thinks ta Mayhaps be nae a nae. I say it be 7 ta 5. Tha' be good enough."
Saunters out of the Arena, leaving her half finished meal and her Petes as she goes off to find a rule book and write a formal letter to Helix.

Seeing as Golden is even thinking about it prompts me to write yet another reply.
The WoL are purely a statistic. They are not tangible. They are not money. They are a form of record-keeping and because of that sole fact the WoL ratio is used as one factor of many in determining the skill of a duelist. One cannot share a statistic. Furthermore, it is said this is done for love. While I'm sure Jeff loves ye and ye love him, Summer, in true love gifts are not a necessity for the gift of sharing each other's love is always present.
If Jeff wants to give ye more or ye wish to ask him for more, which seems more realistic, that is fine if it doesn't harm or upset another. If it does, and this certainly does upset some, then be content with the gift of true love.
On a calmer note, I'm disappointed in Jeff. I was recently thinking what a shining example of a duelist he had become in and out of the ring. I'm saddened to now have doubts.

Summer~
I was just thinking of all involved, dear, when I spoke of paperwork. I was also thinking of Helix's poor hands! :)
But there is one thing that has me apalled. Why in the world are some of you treating this like some heinous thing? One, it was just an idea. Two, it wasn't a matter of riding on a loved one's coattails, it was a matter of giving out of love.
Tell me....what is wrong with love???

Summer,
Baphe has indeed been married. He suffered the loss of his beloved wife a long time ago. I will refrain from comment on the other issue.

I must interject, without offering my own opinion as to the petition.
Over this matter, I've been certain that Summer started this petition in best humor, and it certainly was amusing. However, I can begin to foretell less light-hearted debate over this whimsical manner, namely from Baron Lupton and Lady Sidhartha, and before the proverbial snowball begins to roll, I'd rather speak up and ask all parties, involved and otherwise, to remind themselves that Summer made no poisoned intent with her words, and I doubt
anyone should like to see bitterness and spite prevail onto yet another topic of discussion.

M'lady Summer Oakenshield,
I do not understand love or having been married? I take particular insult and hurt of such an accusation to my person, but alas you simply may have not known. The marriage between myself and Jayne La Mer was one of the biggest gatherings and events ever assembled in the Hall of the Red Dragon, with full on the majority dueling community and others in attendence to witness the joining and bonding of one of the most loving and happiest couples on
RhyDin at the time. I gave her everything that I was and I had to offer that I could share. But love, or marriage, does not mean you have to share "everything". My definition of love and being eternally bonded to someone is simple;
Two lives, one soul.
The thing that makes united couples who are truely in love so beautiful is the different contrasts they bring together for the larger picture. And while many a love dedicated the accomplishments to the loved ones who stood by them in their endevors, I doubt many would simply share with them the particulars of what made them great, i.e. statistics and awards so that they can get the same accolades unearned. I will not argue that you were their to
share with your loved one's times and his emotions at such events, I will argue that you were not there to lift his battle-axe and strike true to enjoy the accomplishments he has of his person today. Being in the heart and mind of a soulmate does not mean you make the legs or the arms do the right things to make things happen.
My now desceased wife was assassinated by a murderer who took from me my greatest prize of all my accomplishments, true love. Draconic love is deep and long and lasts longer then most fickle humanoid emotions. While many find it easy to move on to the next warm bed, I have not taken another because I married a woman I loved for all my life. While she may be gone, I am still alive and I still remember her and love her.
Honor to thyself, Respect to others,
