Overlord Challenge deemed forfeit

Post by DoS Archive » Thu Jul 22, 2004 7:47 pm

From the Rules: 1. A Baron's Council shall be convened in the occurrence of a Baron or the Overlord retiring while a challenge is pending or in the case of a forfeit.

Ladies and gentlemen,

I did have the opportunity to stand ready for the calling of a match between the Overlord and Huma Dragonbane.
As I did wait near to 40 minutes for the Overlord and he did not arrive.
Thus it has been decided, the matter is hereby turned over for the council to decide the fate of the crown.

Sincerely,
Nycholas De Grylington

::returns from the Annex to read of the results from the challenge and is stunned to find that M'lord Dalamar failed to meet Huma at the pre-agreed time:: Oh my.......oh my..... I wonder what hath kept the O'lord from defending his title as Supreme Dueler? It's going to be a long night indeed........ M' position as the senior most Baron on the Council requires that l send word to the other Council Members
and inform them of a situation which we will have to deal with. ::shakes head slowly back and forth::

::sighs and pens a missive to the community::

Lords and Ladies,
It hath come to m' attention that a challenge made by the honorable Huma DragonBane to our Overlord was accepted and agreed to be dueled the evening of the 14th. Having received news that Dalamar failed to defend his title as Overlord, I am required as the senior-most Baron to bring together m' fellow Barons and Baronesses to decide the fate of the crown. This matter shall be dealt with as quickly as possible and the dueling community will
be informed of the Council's decision as soon as the decision is made. I trust ye shall be patient and allow the Council to investigate this matter fully so that we may bring forth a fair and good decision.

Yours in service,

AJ Bird
Defender of the 2nd Ring
Loyal Baron to Dalamar

No one worry too much. In this day and age, Dalamar could not show up for a month and his loyal little dogs would make sure his precious crown is not forfeited.

I find it interesting people how have the ability to throw insults, yet don't have the courage to back up their words with a signature. Seems like people can dish it out, but can't take the heat when they know people won't like them for their convictions.

That's allright Varro, I'll say it for that chump. Dalamar could not show up for a three months and his loyal little lap dogs would make sure his precious crown is not forfeited as long as Dally pulls an excuse from his arse.

Happy?

Having little trouble discerning that the handwriting on the unsigned post belongs to the Once Baron, Skyler Jackson Chamberland, having seen his handwriting upon this very board bearing his signature, she posts a note to the corkboard.

Skyler Jackson Chamberland.

Thou once held a ring, ist that bitterness thee aire stating? Fear thee to sign thine statements?

Tyler walks up to the board, rubbing her chin in curiosity. Wondering who Skyler Jackson Chamberland is, she has little trouble realizing her own name is Tyler Culkin Janis, the commoner and never-holder of a Baron ring, however, she also realizes Jona's post is directed at her.

Jona: I do believe you have me mistaken with someone else. Just because I chose not to leave my name, doesn't mean you have the right to tack an identity on me.

::unsigned, however in the same handwriting as her previous posts::

The commoner smiles as the information she wished to ascertain is forthcoming.

I thank thee for adding to me knowledge.
