I have been told by many that because I was not present that I can't possibly have an inkling as to what happened. I present the following for the review of those the were present so they can clear up what pieces I'm missing.

==
Oct. 14, 1998

Dalamar and Huma were slated to meet on the Battlefield to allow the completion of Huma's challenge to the Overlord to take place. There was some confusion because the Battlefield was not able to be entered and the arena was chosen for the match. Dalamar failed to show which for reasons later to be revealed as due to the death of his father. When he send no missive to his challenger or caller as to his absence a decision was required.

Lady Helix, the supervisor of the sport was called in to render judgement on the matter. She and Huma discussed the matter of what his choices and options were. She left the arena and my co-worker, Nycholas De Gyrlington announced what agreement had been made.

It has been noted that insults were thrown by Jeff and others to Huma. Huma challenged Jeff to a duel to give up his right to challenge or for Jeff to give up his ring. Nycholas, as I understand, had announced the duel was unofficial. Huma lost, later claiming to throw the duel. Huma announces he changed his mind. His request to rescind was denied by Helix. I'm not sure of the sequence of the two last mentioned.

Everybody makes a fuss about everything and some start insulting each other.

How's that so far?

The title below might be a nice description when noted in the histories. I hope all details are added for full detail (note: I added Collie's writings here as they seem to be accurate).

The council is brought together to discuss the fate of Dalamar for not showing up to the match. Typically, the council has three options, but a fourth option (not in direct correlation with the rules) was added.
This is known as Phase I.
The councils begin stating their votes. A few went for the rematch, but a couple barons voiced that it was wrong to let Huma go back on his word. Nevertheless, there were some who changed their mind.
When word got out that the majority of the barons were siding with Dalamar keeping his crown, there were riots, insults, and arguments.

8 loyals voted that Dal keep his crown
1 loyal and 1 renegade voted for a rematch
1 renegade suggested a tournament
Though it only is used as a tie breaker, the overseer voted for a rematch, as well.
1 renegade did not vote.

===The voting===

Ring 1 (Seamus): A; Dal retains crown
Ring 2 (AJ): C; Rematch
Ring 3 (Jaycy): A; Dal retains crown
Ring 4 (Zen): No vote
Ring 5 (Morgan): A; Dal retains crown
Ring 6 (Sartan): A; Dal retains crown
Ring 7 (Kalamere): A; Dal retains crown
Ring 8 (Jeff): A; Dal retains crown
Ring 9 (G'nort): A; Dal retains crown
Ring 10 (Var): C; Rematch
Ring 11 (Gimmzak): A; Dal retains crown
Ring 12 (Walker): D; Tournament
Ring 13 (Magnus): C; Rematch

===8-0-3-1-1===

The council is then asked to start a new series of voting; however, this set will revolve around Huma's consequences.

That is the end of phase I.
====
In this case, there were disputes as to how the barons should see the case. Some said it should be a set example of honor, and to honor one's words. On the other hand, people argued that it is not the council to make decisions based on honor, but on the rules.

Again, I am sure I missed something. Please add to it if I have.

I know this really doesn't make a difference...but how about the part where everyone at that time worried more about the crown rather than the welfare of the man who wears it?

It makes a difference, Sid. That was a missing piece that I, personally, was not aware of. Considering Dal's track record even I would have at the least been asking myself where he was.

I find it odd that some of the people that are yelling about Huma's honor that were present and were more concerned of the status of the crown than the well being of their friend.

First to quote from my original writing.. emphasis added at this time to show that I did say I wasn't there:

"I have been told by many that because I was not present that I can't possibly have an inkling as to what happened. I present the following for the review of those the were present so they can clear up what pieces I'm missing."

That was the point, Summer, and if some of my claims are dead wrong, why did Var use all of them in his example. Why was all Sid had to add that people were more concerned over the crown than Dal's whereabouts. I believe both of them were indeed present.

Heresay isn't admissable in court, however.. the point of the exercise, lass, was for those that were there to show me what I'm wrong about and what I do not know. Please be my guest and give your rebutal.

In Summer's defense, there could have been many things that happened that you were not aware of, but, since I am deaf, I did not hear them and I can only read so many people's lips at once.

Quite true, Sid, but Summer also asked that I tell people that I wasn't there and I made it clear in my accounting that the reason I was placing those facts up was to show that although many people see things from different angles the basics remain the same. Yourself, for instance, you write that you are deaf and can only read so many pair of lips at once, yet you showed me a piece of what I missed.

What I was after is exactly the type of thing you posted, an addition to my information or corrections of my information. No offense to Summer, but blanket "your facts are incorrect" don't work when someone has asked for exactly what is wrong with the information they are presenting.

In all honesty Collie, it was because I heard the same things you heard, and I thought it was accurate. I gathered the information from what I read and heard, and saw it matched your explanation. I wasn't at the challenge, either.
Here's the question: If people want a fair decision, I suggest the whole story be explained so we don't judge from what certain people want us to judge. Sometimes, as minute as a point seems, it should be explained so we understand.

Example: Say baron A didn't hear about the pain Dal had to go through when his father passed away. Now, someone might just say "Hey, he missed the challenge". There's a difference between avoiding a challenge and having other obligations to attend (as this is Dal's case, whereupon I completely understand; however, I firmly believe there should be a rematch to be fair).
I believe there should be a match rescheduled, at Dal's and Huma's convenience. If certain facts were omitted from the council, as to why Dal could not attend, some barons might have judged from a different perspective.

Understood.. so it seems that if naught else we both heard the same things.
