~Ladies and Gentlemen of the Duels
I am in receipt of the final decision of the Council with respect to the challenge match between Warlord Huma Dragonbane and the Overlord, Dalamar Ar'Daumon. Twas a very difficult decision, with the populace clearly divided. Though everyone, of course, has their own opinions, I hope ye can appreciate the fact that bein' in a position of authority was not a position to be relished in this case. If there was, in fact, a clear choice of what would be
fair and just, this wouldn't have been such a problem. That, however, was not the case. That aside...
The decision of the council is accepted as written with the exception of the rulin' of community service on behalf of the Overlord. Veto on this particular item is exercised by myself and ratified by the Head Innkeeper. The Council's intent behind this particular item is appreciated, but unfortunately because of RhyDin law, cannot be carried out.
I am aware that the Council deliberated long and hard in comin' to its decision, and I'd like to thank everyone for their efforts in gettin' the job done.
I'd also like to take this opportunity to discuss another issue.
It has come to my attention that my stamina is no longer what it used to be. Though I like to think I've put up the good fight a time or two (or 15 or 30) I'm afraid that after 2 years in this position, my well has run dry. Rather than carry on when the spirit is weak, I think it would be in the best interest of the sport to allow some new blood to flow. Thus, my resignation as the Duel of Swords Supervisor is tendered, effective immediately.
Obviously, with a group as large and robust as yerselves, the Head Innkeeper will need a little time to meet with the staff and get reorganized. At his request I also inform ye that effective midnight Sunday, October 25th, the Duel of Swords will be closed. Reopenin' is slated for November 10th. In the meantime, perhaps some of ye can keep fit visitin' Dans and her group in the Duel of Magic, or Rask and his crew in the Duel of Fists.
I wish each of ye health and good fortune in the future, and I thank ye for the good memories I'll take with me.

The angel appears just after the declaration from Lady Helix is posted upon the ancient cork board. Nodding, respectful of the decision, her visage suddenly becomes shadowed with sadness as she reads the last part of the note, the usual light aura dims.
Silently moving from the board, her quill slips without thought from her hand, spiraling to the floor.

Madame Girvin, wouldst be so kind as to clarify for the community and myself, exactly which "RhyDin Law" thee are citing? Rhydin ist vast ast is the City. Though I am cognizant of many laws governing various lands, estates, enclaves and such within the City and with the codifications of laws in many lands, I must say, I am not aware that there is an all encompassing "Law of Rhydin" that affects the city-state whereupon the Ancient Inn, the Dueling
House, indeed where many who frequent the dueling house maintain homes. Wouldst be so kind as to elucidate upon that portion of thine missive?
I laud thee and thine selflessness in making thine decision to resign ast the Duel of Swords Supervisior in the best interest of the sport. I do trust that the challenges currently pending shall nae be affected adversely by the closing of the Ancient Cavern. Having taken a bit of leisure upon the Twilight Isle and also wandered upon occasion to the Outback, I can certes recommend a visit.
A good journey to thee, Madame Girvin, rest assured I for one, shall remember thee.

Several days ago I sent my resignation to Helix as a queuekeeper in the Duel of Swords, but asked that the staff keep it quiet as I planned to stay until All Hallow's Eve. I thank them for doing so.
I find it ironic that I once made the statement that if she ever left the Duel of Swords that I would be out the door behind her. This Saturday will be my last shift in the Duel of Swords. I have enjoyed my time here among the friends that I have made.
I have had the great pleasure of working with this team nearly two years. I have worked most steadily with Nycholas De Gyrlington, who has often been my anchor of sanity in this place. To him, I offer my thanks for his friendship and a case of good scotch whiskey that I have had placed in his locker.
Far be it from me to speak for Helix, but as to the question posed by Lady Starfare, " I do trust that the challenges currently pending shall nae be affected adversely by the closing of the Ancient Cavern." I would assume that since the Duel of Swords is closed that none of the staff will be working during this time and all challenges and events are on hold until the reopening.
In light of Helix's resignation, I will be in attendance at the meeting with the head innkeeper to assist how I can for those team members planning to remain.

Ah, my dear good friend Helix...such a shame it is to see you move on. You have held this honourable post with strong conviction, and I am deeply proud of your accomplishments, as you also should be.
I had no doubt, two years ago, that you had the strength of will and character to enter into this noble position during tumultuous times. Yet even I was surprised how well you were able to acclimate yourself in short order with only minimal preparation. You demonstrated yourself to be a natural leader and adjudicator. I knew that this great institution was in excellent hands, better than anything I could provide.
Although I have been scarce these last few years, I have been quietly observing the progress of this sport. It has been faced with many new challenges, and I am enlightened to see that the basic spirit of the game, one envisioned at a time so very different -- even alien -- from what we see today, has remained constant and vibrant. This is a credit to your leadership, to your strength.
Thank you, Helix Gilyan Deverrey Girvin, for keeping the flame alive. Thank you for keeping the spirit of the game. And in that spirit, I salute you.

I'm sure this is one of countless letters flocking to your door fraught with the sadness of your decision, but I felt the need to pen one nonetheless. In my time here in the Duel of Swords, I have seen perhaps five(?) coordinators (in the beginning, also Standings Keepers), and of those five I've seen very few as dedicated to just, fair, heartfelt, and warm acts as yourself. I have seen you act thus throughout the roughest period the Duel of
Swords has ever seen. You are the best staff we've had in ages, and let it never be said that I wasn't one of your biggest fans. We'll miss you, Helix. Hopefully now you can find the time to come be with us as patrons on the weekends like you did in days long past.
