As I see it...

OK, this is how I've pieced what happened together. Correct me if what I think happened is out of whack...

Huma challenged Dalamar. Dal didn't show, due to personal reasons. While waiting, Huma challenged Jeff Oakenshield to an honor match, putting up Jeff's ring to Huma's right to challenge (I'm a bit uncertain about that part). Nycholas announced that the honor match was not legal, so would have no effect on any official statistics. Jeff and Huma went through with the duel anyway. Jeff won.

According to this account, I would say that Dal cannot be held accountable for unforeseen circumstances such as those. If so, he should still keep his title. Jeff and Huma's match did not officially count, according to Nycholas, so nothing should come of it. Therefore, the entire challenge should be redone; Warlord Dragonbane vs. Overlord Ar'Daumon.

Am I missing something here? It seems too obvious for my account to be completely accurate.

The only part you missed was when Huma refused to reschedule, saying something to the effect of "I don't want to duel him later, I want to duel him now".

Sid,

I may be wrong about this, but I thought Huma said that he was busy nearly every day of the week for hours at a time, so that was nearly the only time he could duel. Perhaps I misheard or misread.

::reads Sid's post::

Okay, so Huma refused to reschudule his duel with Dalamar...

I don't see how he has the right to do that. He's the challenger. It's up to Dal to decide when the duel should be. If Huma could not make it any other time, he should rescind his challenge, but should have a free challenge against Dalamar whenever he wants, even during a period when no one else can legally challenge (I'm not familiar enough with challenge rules to be more specific).

Continue to correct me if needed,

I posted a request asking Nych if I was informed correctly, or not.

<<Do nae know if it matters.>>

Actually, it's pretty much academic, now, since the Barons' Council already decided how things stand. So it's really just a quest for information to form my own opinion that I wonder.

It's all a big huge joke. Huma's fault partly, and a lot of Dal's. Who Cares? Everyone.. Why? Because, it is a thrill? You like being in other people's business? Is this traditional to take it under your wing?
hmm. I got many questions. But, one thing i got to say is...*end* This is over, huma, did not want to re-schedule. He lost to ,Jeff. Huma retired. Stop talking about it, Because, he is not here anymore, and he needs to have his privacy. Boring, boring, BORING. Descussion... Adjourn.

After reading a few posts, she comes to a startling realization... "I actually agree with Jake on something..." Turning to look at the nearest person, she grins. "Quick, either I've got a fever or the world's coming to an end! Jake actually seems to make sense!" Taking out her quill, she posts a quick note.

Run for the hills! The world's coming to an end! Jake actually made sense!
In all seriousness... Please, let us get on with our lives and have done with this.
