It would seem many a baron fault ya fer da events dat have occured. In light of such, I do humbly request ye recind yer promise ta nae test Baron challengers. Please allow yer loyal barons, myself included, ta defend ya against yer opposition. I have no official sway, tis merely a request from one who was loyal since ye did challenge Athlstan, and who will remain such until ye are dethroned.

Difference Seamus is Dal never made a baron risk his ring over da promise. He made such a vow outta his own free will.

My askin' ta defend him is not a calculation of skill, percentages, or tactic - it is a desire ta play a role in da protection of my Overlord's crown. A rather simple matter. I called Huma a coward because he was attemptin' ta sidestep a duel with Dalamar; at any date.

Pointedly, you had the right to say no if that is the case. No one MADE you do anything. I have called you many things over the time I have known you, Jeff, coward is not one nor is dishonorable. Are you, Jeffrey Oakenshield, with a mind of his own, actually trying to convince me that you could be MADE to do something you didn't wish to do?
If Dal goes back on his word now, then he will be guilty of what you accused Huma, breaking his oath. Regardless of the circumstances.. and free will. His oath will have been broken, now if you are saying Dal has the free will to change his mind.. I'll give that he does, but if that is the case.. then so do we ALL including Huma Dragonbane.

It is really very fascinating, isn't it? A Loyal Baron first announces that Huma Dragonbane is an oathbreaker and is unworthy to be Overlord because he is an Oathbreaker. This is an understandable opinion, and many who opposed the methods used block Huma from the throne still believed, in their hearts, that Huma should not be Overlord. We merely wanted the Barons to follow the rules.
Now, this same Loyal Baron calls upon the Overlord to break an oath. This absolutely disgusts me. It is one thing to believe that honour means so much that a dishonourable man should not be Overlord. It is quite another thing to SAY you believe this, but then to implore the Overlord to commit a base and dishonourable act himself.
Now, personally, I had begun thinking more and more favourably of Dalamar's reign in recent times, up to the abortive nonmatch between he and Huma. I do not blame Dalamar for decisions made since, though I believe that he would have done better to distance himself from those who made the decisions. However, I am saddened and angered by the actions of a bloc of the Loyal Barons who seem to think that anything goes to keep the Overlord on his
throne.
The Council's decision was that the rules applied to everyone but the Overlord. Now it seems that Baron Oakenshield wants honour to apply to everyone but the Overlord too. What is next? Does anyone really want to find out the answer to that question?
