>>Who are Bilbo, Gollum, Tolkien?<<
Morgan, lass, the first and second are halfling creatures, as I understand it they come from a land called Middle Earth. I believe Tele and Luthien are well versed in the history of the place.
Tolkien was a professor of what are called dead languages on earth. Dead languages are those no longer spoken or written. I read once where he was one of the last people to have full knowledge of several, but he crossed into the world beyond some time ago.

Well Seamus, I'll admit it's a bit tough, but they've had even longer with "the dead carrying the living."

Boy can't fool you guys for a minute. :)
To anyone who likes to read (or has TIME to read haha) I would recommend "The Lord of the Rings." by J.R.R. Tolkien. You can find the Trilogy in any bookstore anywhere in the world. It is a classic. I might venture to say... these books set the stage upon which many modern fantasy-fiction writer's play even now.
"The Hobbit" is not a part of the Trilogy, although it does make an excellent prelude to it since many of the characters continue on throughout the series.

These are my opinions; these are my beliefs. I am entitled to them. Do not insult me; I do not mean to personally offend anyone with the following statements.
The Trilogy of the Lord of the Rings are probably the worst three books I have ever read. Tolkien, in my opinion, is a horrible writer. His paragraphs and sentences are difficult to read, and the characters he creates are poor and unrealistic.
They are nothing more than children's books.
