"Once you realized what your servant did, why did you continue with the challenge? You could have easily withdrawn and reissued challenge when you were able to."

Morgan,

Yes, I could have easily withdrawn and reissued challenge. However, I made the mistake of not doing such, and that is something that will continue to nag at my conscience. However, what's done is done, and I cannot and will not simply walk away because of past mistakes. I can only hope to atone for them by my actions now, and in the future.

Simply,
Jaycynda Ashleana

Jonalyn.

Well fenced, madam. Thy platinum tongue is elusive indeed, but mine statement stands. I speak for the truth, and it alone. The Lady Drakewyn's power cannot be disputed--what's done is done, and all thy rambling cannot change the fact that perhaps thy precious guardian isn't as attention as ye assumed.

>Thine challenge wast by the rules improper.

Jona,

Wasn't it you that said in another string of posts concerning Dalamar's failure to show for his challenge that the rules didn't have to be directly followed? Jaycy makes no mistake, it is Helix who does, so Helix bends the rules slightly to make up for her error. Jaycy did nothing wrong. The rules were also bent in Dalamar's failure to show. Just seems like you are contradicting yourself.

Just for the sake of clarification :

>Helix bends the rules slightly to make up for her error. Jaycy did nothing
>wrong. The rules were also bent in Dalamar's failure to show.

Helix is not the Baron's Council. It was the Baron's council who did exactly what it was that they did. Helix was, at the time, Coordinator of the DoS. The two matters are completely seperate, and have no beearing on each other.

Tis nae disputing the Lady Drakewyn's power. Tis her blithe misuse of her skills that ist questioned. Tis nae the first time she hast attempted a desecration of the dueling house. The first a mere practical joke, amusing to some. This use of her powers ist far from a joke, for a man is dead. What shall be her next whim?

Baron Magnus,

The rule of challenges rest unchanged, the Baroness flouted them, blatantly and blithely.

Baron Magnus,

Cite unto me and the community which rule wast flouted in the case of Dalamar.

Dalamar's duel was laid before the council ast ist provided under the rules of engagement applying to such circumstances.

Madame Ashleana ignored the basic, most simple, and one of the most long standing rules of engagement.

The commoner tacks a missive to the corkboard.

Madame Ashleana

Madame, I make nae accusation, I state the simple undeniable facts.

Thou wert in the dueling house upon the fifth day of the tenth moon. Indeed I wast present when Wil Savage didst transport thee to his vessel. Thine challenge wast placed upon the corkboard upon the sixth day of the tenth moon. It is written in thine own hand and dost bear thine signature. The announcement of the standings wast placed before the public upon the eighth day of the tenth moon. Thou didst say thou returned to Rhydin a mere hour before
thine match with the then Baron, an hour spent in the dueling house, for thee and I didst speak that day.

When didst prepare thine challenge, Madame? Where wast it placed that thine servant didst come upon it? Wherefore didst thine servant deign to issue challenge in thine name, in thine hand and with thine signature without thine leave?

I find nae announcement upon the ancient corkboard of the date time and place set for thine challenge. Art thou now saying that in the mere hour of thine return, thou didst discover the challenge had been issued by thine friend and servant in thine name, that thou then became aware of the impropriety of the challenge ast presented, that thou then didst settle the matter of the improper presentation of the challenge in thine favor, then did arrange
with the then Baron the time and place for the challenge, secure a caller and commence the duel? Curiouser and curiouser. Perhaps thine servant wouldst deign to expound upon the matter.

I am nae in disagreement with the Baron Morgan's assessment that thou art perhaps a fine, decent and kind person, howe'er, Madame, the fact remains thou didst, by thine own hand write the letter of challenge, thou didst seemingly blithely disregard the rules of engagement, thou didst stand silently by whilst others were upbraided, thou hast now cast blame upon thine servant, pleading ignorance of his actions until a mere hour before thou didst cross
blades with the then Baron.

That then shall be the burden of thine ring, Madame. For ast thine challenge wast tainted so shall be thine ring ast long ast thou shall bear it. Madame Ashleana, thee resort to issuing me a challenge? How droll. I didst issue thee challenge ast a commoner the day thou didst attain thine ring and thou didst refuse. Thine honor lays ast dross at thine feet Madame. 'ware thee dinna trip o'er it. Thine actions in past, aire they the precursor of
those thee intend in future Madame? What a wonderous fine example thou present to the community at large. What a wonderous honorable example thee aire ast Baron, what a model of honor, truth, propriety thou sets for those thou deign to be beneath thee.

Jaycynda,

You will do what you can do. Again, I do not envy your position and I sincerely hope this can be resolved in the best way possible. Whatever way possible is not within my realm to judge or decide at this point, only yours, and I believe you to do what you feel is best for everyone.

In good faith,

Morgan

Simply put, I don't see why the Ward should be lowered under any circumstances.

If you wish to argue with this post, try.
This post is not meant to be a moral statement - just my opinion of the matter at hand.

Barons, shouldn't a law be made about this?

Magnus,

It's a fancy way of saying pregnant. Can't be a little bit pregnant, you are or you aren't.. I think that is a subject that not even Jona dares to question my knowledge of.
