Time in Question

To all who care,
Fact 1
The times/days/etc/ that Jaycy says she was on the ship with Wil and I, she was. Why am I not repeating them here? Because I don't have to, go look for yourself.
Fact 2
Wil and I knew that Jaycy was going to challenge. We made sure she got the proper treatment for her leg so that it would be ready in time for a duel.
Fact 3
From what I understand, though I've been ignoring most of these odious posts, Helix and Golden made a decision regarding Jaycy's challenge. Gee. In my book, it's those who make the decisions who are responsible for those decisions they make, not the ones who benefit from those decisions.
Get real, Jonalyn.

I am real, Madame n Fici. The decision wast made by Madame Ashleana to give improper challenge. Placing blame 'pon her servant, saying it was he that didst then deliver th' letter, an then th' twas seemin' 'e th' didst seek a ruling in her favor when he wast informed th' challenge wast clearly in violation of the clearly established rules of engagement ist but balderdash. I am well familiar with the transmission capabilities of Savage's vessel.
Tis voice activated, quite sentient an a verra intelligent system, one th' apparently wast nae utilized in this instance bu' wast in another.
Quite simply, lass, the onus falls upon the warlord who challenges to present proper bonafides. Thou didst challenge for a ring, did thee nae? Didst thee nae see ta it th' all wast done properly? Wouldst thou support such perfidy had thee a ring th' wast challenged in such a manner? I think nae, knowing thine temper, lass.

I will attempt to remain civil in this post, but I fear I may fail due to your glaring misunderstanding of the situation.
May I ask, should the Challenger be faulted for the actions of the Coordinator? Clearly, as many have said, Helix told Jaycynda the wrong information. In trying to rectify the situation, she allowed the Challenge to go through. How is Jaycynda at fault in this, when she was clearly misinformed by Helix.
I am not, by any means, berating Helix for this, but Helix herself had admitted her mistake and had indeed try to rectify it. Why are you chastizing Jaycynda for Helix's mistake?

It's quite simple Sid...
She does it because she can, and because that there are those who will listen to her.
Personally, I am done with her.

I feel I have to agree with you, I get nothing but a headache listening to her anyway. I'm pretty much fed up and all thoughts of being cordial are about gone.

Madame Elgarette.
Tis plain that thou hast yet to learn the meaning of the word civil. I have come to expect that of thee. Thou hast yet to learn even the simplest courtesy of addressing thine missives to me by mine proper name. Ah, well, tis nae surprise.
The only glaring misunderstanding of the matter ist thine, Madame. Simply put, the warlord didst present improper challenge and didst place blame for it elsewhere. Shall the community then accept that any warlord what seeks to challenge, may flout the rules of engagement, claim ignorance of the simplest of requirements, then place blame 'pon servants or annaone else for that matter?
Quite simply, Madame Elgarette, M'Lord Evermeadow wast at the time the gentleman to see to the validity of the match. He did and declared it invalid. Madame Ashleana dost say her servant apparently didst then approach Madame Helix who didst rule in error, a rule that e'en the rawest commoner should know. I dinna find admission by Madame Helix 'pon this ancient cork of her error. Yet be that as it may, t'was the responsibility of the challenging
warlord to present proper challenge, nae her servant, nae annaone but Madame Ashleana.
How many warlords were deprived of their "Right" to challenge by complying with the rules of engagement whilst Madame Ashleana or her servant didst play fast and loose with this challenge? Ist this the example that thou wishes set afore the community? The matter hast more to do with what wast done than with who did it. Tis sad it wast Madame Ashleana, for she hast visited these halls for a goodly while ast well ast hast had the privilege of
wearing a uniform. Yet, high or low, privilege or nae, t'was the challenge wast nae done in the proper manner nor be an example I wouldst wish these ancient rings to represent.
If thee canna understand so simple a premise, I canna explain it to thee anna further.

Managing to contain her hiccups as she comes upon another of Sidartha's witty comments, the commoner snags the quill, pens a note tacking it to the cork.
Madame Elgarette.
I am aware thee aire nae married, Lupton showed at least a bit 'o good sense when 'e didst divorce ye. I rather recall the evening he didst celebrate with unbounded jubilance that event. Madame, one hast to be inbued with common sense to teach it, neh? Do carry on ast blithely ast thee wish, though I find it utterly amusing that thou hast nae the wherewithall ta answer e'en the simplest question put to thee. Thine bile and vitriol might make a good
potion, but methinks thee enjoy it much too much ta e'en consider th', prefering to spew it forth every chance thee can. Thou hast chosen ta disregard facts, Madame, for ast long ast I have known thee, tis nae surprising that thou continue to follow thine nature, amusing, but nae surprising.

Jona,
I believe Sid's point could be.... she's not married, quit calling her madame. Madame as you stated is a "polite term for a married woman."

What is the point of putting a snide comment like this on the boards? What does it have to do with the argument? Not trying to corner ya or anythun', but what this is the type of mudslinging that people scorn..please stop. If yer gonna "debate", do it for the good of the whole, to get something done, not to outwit someone and display it on the boards..this is not specificaly for Jona, so don't try to kick me in the arse with me own words. Though I

From the desk of Cristian de Oro
Director of Archaeology; Black Friday, Inc.
To those that take of exception to every word written by Madame Regent:
I would suggest ignoring the woman. The pen is mightier than the sword, my friends... and it would appear what skills she lacks in the ring, she more than makes up for in her writings, as I have yet to see one of her posts that have not garnered an equally snide or hateful response. Consider ignoring her words... use it as a parry to fend off her baseless accusations and eccentric ranting. This sort of "I suck? You suck!" back and forth, back
and forth produces nothing as neither side will ever, ever concede that they are in the wrong. As amusing as it may be to watch from a distance, there is a point when and where things get a bit too personal and thus lose their amusing qualities.
To Madame Jonalyn herself:
I sincerely hope that, one day, I will be able to respect you in the way you obviously should be respected as evidenced by your status of royalty and the length of time you have remained in this community. As it stands, it appears that day may never come. As much as you may not care about my or anyone elses' respect one way or another, I do submit to you that respect is indeed important to this community. It would serve the community much more
good than harm if the mainstays within it were able to at least pretend to be respectful to one another.
That being said, should you have anything to say in response, I should hope it would be as respectful as what I have put down here. Otherwise, your words will have about as much impact as a fly breaking wind in a tornado.
Sincerely,
Cristian de Oro

The commoner peruses the missive, takes up the quill hanging upon its ribbon. A moment to gather her thoughts, she then pens a note, firmly tacking it to the cork.
Cristian de Oro,
If tis thee be of the opinion that me status ast royalty or the length of time I have remained in this community ist something to respect, though kind of thee, tis nae necessary. Though I have come across thine comments upon this corkboard, thou knowest me nae, nor do I know thee. Respect ist earned, sir. I have long offered the respect due unto those of rank, high or low. Yet, in good conscience, sir, ast I have already stated, I shall nae, by
mine silence, condone acts that sully all, from commoner to Overlord. I find it vastly amusing, that those who didst preach the loudest that the "rules" be adhered to in the matter of the challenge of Huma Dragonbane unto the Overlord Dalamar, do seemingly resort to casting slanders and insults upon me for revealing that which the Baroness herself should have revealed.
I am a woman of patience, sir, but nae unlimited patience. A grievous wrong wast done, nae only to the then Baron Evan Rush Lynth, but to the community, aye, unto every duelist from commoner to Overlord. Thine statement of "baseless accusations and eccentric comments" ist thine opinion, and certes thou art entitled to it. I have nae wish for thine respect, sir, though shouldst thou come to it, tis again kind of thee.
There be degrees of harm, certes. Pretended respect be, to me mind, hypocrisy. I have been labeled manna things, accused of manna things, slander, baseless accusations, eccentric rantings, lying, stirring strife and dissent, kidnapping, the list goes on ad nauseum. I care nae, for I have been called worse, though and thou wilt forgive me, but nae oft do they that slander me have the fortitude to do so to my face. Though I have rather accurate
reports from servants who do visit the Nexus Point of Rhydin town of the japes and jibes spoken by certain females. There are few secrets in the realms, Cristian.
Perhaps thou might ponder the wherefores and reasons some have chosen to question me upon family matters, rather than addressing the issue of the Baroness. Is it perhaps, by casting aspersion and slanders upon me, they hae nae need to turn their attention to the harm done this community? I wast nae born to royal rank. I make nae bones about having a temper, nor am I prone to losing it, though if thou wilt know, my patience isna endless, sir.
Thou hast nae way of knowing what hast gone before, Senor de Oro. I could have maintained me silence, certes, but in good conscience, and after waiting and enduring persistent and, if I may say, rather less than civil demands, that I speak upon the matter, I did. There may well be those who would have wished the veil of silence remain, certes the Baroness, for whom, until this matter didst happen I didst hold in high regard. I fear nae to speak
out, and, if I am respected less for it, so be it. There are certes those who wouldst both me tongue be stilled and me quill, silenced. I have stood alone before, sir, and in the face of threats nae e'en unto attempts made upon mine very life and the lives of mine bairns, and, if I must again stand alone in this matter, I am willing.
If respect for this community means condoning by silence such ast the actions of the Baroness Ashleana, in mine humble opinion, this community ist in dire straits. If respect for this community and these ancient halls means so little that warlords canst nae only flout the very traditons but the simplest rules of engagement set forth for all, from commoner to Overlord, then this community ist in dire straits. Hast it come to this, that a warlord
seeking to challenge for title, fears to place his bonafides before the community? Hast it come to this that perhaps they fear scrutiny? Why fear such if tis open and above board? If what ist sought ist but a title and a name in a mouldering history, so be it. Thou wilt forgive me, for if that shouldst come to pass, mine tears shall be shed in silence, the silence that shall engulf these once proud halls.
Respectfully,
Jonalyn Nenshen Starfare
Common as they come.
