Good friends of this dueling community,
I have been absent from this place for some time now. During my absence, I was challenged and, being unable to answer, lost my Baron's Ring. While I cannot reasonably expect a retraction or any sort of leniency my way toward this decision, I can, and shall, attempt to explain to you my whereabouts these past ten weeks, so that you may understand why I have been unable to contact anyone.
It began at the beginning of this ten week period. I felt a strong urge to go on a small spiritual journey to a place sacred to me. Thus, that next day, I decided to leave on this pilgrimage of sorts, hoping that in one or two weeks my soul would be satisfied and I should return.
One week into my journey, the land was invaded by villains intent on mere destruction. As the place was sacred to me, and I wished to defend it, and it being that I had known the king of this land for many years prior and he allowed this, I enlisted in their militia to defend the attack.
While somewhat successful in the early going, four weeks into battle, I was captured and taken prisoner. While I was in prison, I was unaware of any outside happenings, even the circumstances involving the battle, until three weeks into my imprisonment, I was freed when our militia broke into the enemy camp where I was held. I was informed that we had made great progress and were nearly finished driving the villains out of the land. I sent a
messenger to Rhy'Din to inform Percival Marchand de Clermont of my circumstances, in hopes that he might inform others should necessity demand it. I received a reply the next week in which he outlined for me that I had been challenged and failed to respond in time. Five days later, the conflict was over, as all the villains had either fled, died, or surrendered. It was then that I made my journey home. That was three days ago.
Upon my return I had found the decision had been made to relieve me of my ring. Unfortunately, at this point there was no recourse that I had to regain it, as it had been awarded to Morgan le Fay du Cornwall in the Warlord's Tournament. However, now that I have returned, I intend to reclaim the ring, as I believe I could have continued to successfully defend it in battle and represent it well; I do not believe my time with the ring was finished.
These are the events which have transpired on me these past ten weeks, and I hope that this missive gives those concerned insight on my situation.

Well Morgan...
It looks like both Zen and Huma are coming to get "their" ring.
One hopes that you know it to be "the fourth ring," and you "the Baroness of the Fourth," not the other way around, as these two gentlemen seem to see it.
Each person holds a ring for a time... some a short time, some a long time... but in the end, it is not -their- ring, but a symbol for the community.

Simply, to clarify what Drakewyn brings up, I do not consider the fourth ring to be "mine." However, nor do I consider it or the title a "symbol" of the community. It is simply a part of the community -- one that contributes to the whole, and the quality of the contribution to the whole depends on each person who strives and succeeds for the right to hold title.
Zen, pardon me for my skeptical reaction to your "explanation." Twice now you have abandoned your baronial responsibilities only to return expecting someone to owe you something for nothing. I listen to false cries about wolves only once; you shall get no understanding from me now or ever.

Excuses excuses...rule #1, NEVER abandon a ring for any amount of time for ANY reason...so it is written, so shall it be, like the saying "Till death to us part" Once accepting the title of baron, one should NEVER leave said title for ANY reason for ANY amount of time, whether it be 1 hour, 1 day or 1 week, NONE of these are acceptable. Take the title, ALWAYS be available...simple as that...a death in the family,
morn the loss and defend the title, personal business...deal with it and defend the tittle..the title is above all else, NO EXCUSES. Period...

Someone go find a doctor, a policeman, or both and find Skyler. He has either gone nuts or been kidnapped and replaced with a double. He actually send something intelligent, sensible, and polite. Something is dreadfully wrong with the man!

People have labeled me an oathbreaker, love had left me, commitment? Open your eyes...commitiment means remaining where you must to defend your honor, and title. We all know that upon challenging and if it happens winning a challenge, that taking the title of baron or overlord means that the title comes above all else, if anyone can't do that, simply put...don't challenge.
I don't see how you could criticise me an any manner. Hell, when I had the fourth ring, I never missed a challenge, and furthermore, my challengers alwasy got swift replies and action. No waiting.
Lastly, you are the one who needs pity. How you can damn a person for not having honor or commitment is beyond me. I spoke of staying commited, sheesh....read much? Actually, try reading the entire letter before making any responses.
