Lupton, It is humorous to see you grasp at whatever straws you can to castigate the Overlord, even to stoop so low as to criticize one who considers you to be one of her dearest and longest held friends in this realm. How many years? And with one sentence you are ready to throw that out the window simply because you have a problem with Dalamar.

There is no comparison between the two. Dalamar missed one challenge and responded to the mistake within mere hours. Zen has gone missing while holding a ring, not once, but twice, for long periods of time. You are surely showing a lack of reason if you truly think this man makes a good baron to the community each time he attains title and fritters it away.

Or maybe your true delight is watching controversy seep into each element of our sport. Perhaps when you get your sense of reason and humor back, we could delight in it together as the friends we used to be.

She sighs and shakes her head... "Oi... why do they have to do THIS now?" Frowning, she simply stepped up and took a few key notes... namely the ones with insults in them, like Huma's last one, then again.... she then promptly took the notes of those who retorted to the insults, leaving those like Shadow's or Jona's posts alone. Promptly throwing the others that she took to the hearth so no one else has to suffer reading them,
she smiles softly to herself, before penning her one note and pins it on top of the rest.

"Have a merry Winter Season."

Morgan,

I truly have no problem with our Overlord, nor do I particularily like him. To put it frankly, he really doesn't effect my life one way or the other.

My problem lies within the fact that Zen gave us the privledge of knowing his circumstances, ones I can surely sympathize with, asked for nothing at all, and he was flamed and battered in a merciless verbal display. Why? Maybe his priorities are in order, and things do come first before a Baronial ring gained within a basement under an Inn with bad food.

Ay, me...

::sets to work composing a reply, which he then posts::

Percival,

Have no fear. I certainly shall not be obsessed over it. I only intend to hold it until I lose it in the ring, then shall I move on from it.

Morgan,

Your response troubles me. How you can accuse me of asking for "Something for nothing", when I stated the exact opposite, causes me some distress. I have only made known my intent; I plan to fully pursue it through the appropriate channels as would anyone else who would challenge for a ring. I have not attempted to take it from you by having a decision reversed. I only intend to take it from you in a duel.
Perhaps I was mistaken in attempting to set aside my cynicism and provide an open explanation of my whereabouts. It seems these days that one could say, "The sky is blue," and someone would debate him over it insultingly.
I am troubled by your apparent misperceptions as to my intent. I hope I have made them clear for your sake. As for me, I shall continue my plan to acquire the necessary peer wins and then issue my challenge to you. If this bothers you, then, as someone who has been challenged multiple times, may I advise you to begin preparing now, as energies being used to hurl vituperations at me would best be spent there. Words will not prevent me from taking
the ring; only the sword will.

Your advice is unasked for and unwarranted. You do not know me well enough to decide where my energies could be better spent. If I think you a fool and irresponsible, then I will say so, whenever I feel like it.

"Words will not prevent me from taking the ring; only the sword will."

Despite what you would like to believe, you and your sword will never prevent me from speaking out against your chronic disregard for the titles you have held. You do not care about anything more than winning a duel -- you have ably proven that twice. How many more times must you do it before you and others see it as irresponsible and disrespectful?

Sounds fair. You can say what you think of someone, yet their opinion of you is suddenly unwarranted? Shall we say your opinion of Zen isn't asked for, as well?
To be frank, I don't appreciate the fact that the challenge wasn't answered within a week, or the absence for a full cycle, but at least Zen can take words thrown at him without basically demanding the opinions be held.

Morgan,

I have tried to maintain some sort of cordiality about this affair, but you have refused to return it. Let me clarify some apparent misunderstandings you have about my statements:
First, I have no intent to stop you or anyone from saying anything. Nothing you say bothers me personally. Call me a fool until the day you die, but I will still challenge you. That is what I am saying, and I'm saying the only way to keep me from that ring is to put 5 points on me in my challenge match. In other words, nothing you SAY will stop me, only what you DO.
Also, it is very difficult to understand how you can say "You do not care about anything more than winning a duel"-- if that was true, why would I have taken ten weeks away from the rings to make a pilgrimage and defend a land? I knew I ran the risk of losing my ring, but some things are just more important than swordplay. Frankly, it is good to see that you have not been able to force your perception of me as "irresponsible and disrespectful"
upon others. I think they understand that my spiritual journey was important to me.
I have not shown any bitterness about having my ring taken. I only say that now that I have returned, I wish to reclaim the ring. Your continued insults have only galvanized me to concentrate doubly in my efforts to have the ring removed from your finger.

No, Var, and that is not what I said.

I said that his ADVICE to ME was unasked for an unwarranted. I hope the emphasis clarifies for you.

I have never demanded that anyone, least of all Zen, refrain from having an opinion and I do not appreciate you saying I did.

As Kira headed off looking for Tormay, she wandered by the ancient cork. Upon the board, amist the scaps of paper, a shiny object caught the wee kender's eye. Kira dropped the heavy gloves and tugged at the shiny spoon. She tugged as hard as she could but the spoon would not come off the board. Frustrated, Kira picked up one of the heavy gloves and
swung it at the spoon. The impact caused papers to fly all about as well as freed the spoon.
As papers drifted down to the ground, Kira collected up the spoon and the second glove. Her hands now full she skipped off, admiring her new treasures.

MorganFay, RLupton, QuickVarMG, and all the rest of you who have something said.
So what? Zen has said his peace. I don't know who he is, nor do I care, but I have noticed that this has become another "Pointless DoS debate".

I take no sides, or have any intentions for pun, but you have yet again started and participated in a total battle of words and thoughts over a former Baron explaining himself and his actions.

My opinion in the matter is, Zen is viewed as lacking in integrity by explaining his absence in DoS. IS VIEWED...remeber that. But he has NOT asked for any sympathy, explanations, or compensation for his loss. He merely stated that he seeks the ring back.

Please, let's not debate over such silly little things such as someone making a statement or explanation. It's severely annoying.

To Whomever,

And who be thou to categorize anna debate ast pointless. Shall we all be silenced for that thou hast so decided? May I respectfully request that shouldst thou find such "Debates" pointless, thou might seek elsewhere for thine enjoyment. Perhaps thou might consider turning thine hand to tutoring Master Avery Shiv Blade's young, unlettered scribe or some other lucrative endeavor. Indeed, I note thee hast signed thineself ast "Master Tracker."
Perhaps thou wouldst consider a contract. I am informed by Master Edmond of the theft of a pair of Sap Gloves, stolen from the Hall of Heroes by a female of the species identified ast a kender. I should be happy to pay a reasonable sum for the recovery and delivery to my hands of said gloves, undamaged. It would appear that even the sanctity of the Hall of Heroes isna safe from the depredations of thieves and other unsavory personages. Should
thee wish to take said commission, thou may leave word in the kiosk I maintain outside the dueling house.

In the matter of Master Zen Rising, he hast made a reputation for failure to appear to defend his Baron's ring, what be it now, thrice? Though his explanation of his disappearance isna in question, his reputation and worth as a personage with respect to his again seeking to wear a Baron's ring is most assuredly something that should be scrutinized. In lieu of the very fact that he hast stated he shall again seek a ring, any ring, he hast
placed himself in the public eye. Therefore his reputation, his past deeds and his worth most assuredly should be questioned.

A snap of her fingers brings the discarded papers from the hearth to their original places upon the corkboard.

Silphion

I shall kindly thank ye to keep thine hands off the missives that aire placed upon this corkboard. If thee aire inclined to throw papers in the hearth, may I suggest thee collect them elsewhere. Tis enow personages infesting the basement of late what hae nae a care for the traditions without ye adding to the decline. I shall charitably attribute yuir ignorance to yuir having been led to the basement by he thou didst name ast informing thee of the
dueling house.

Unamused,
