Lords and Ladies of RhyDin

On this eve, the 22th of December, I did have the Honor and Privilege to witness the challenge for the Second Baronial Ring.
The Baron AJay Bird of Ballentyne met with the Warlord Jesse Troyn
on the field of Honor in the Baron's elevnth defense of his ring.
The Baron dueled under the Coat of Arms of Ballentyne: A dual set of light blue-hued wings trimmed in black, emerging from a silver shield set on a sapphire blue background. The left wing is clutching a sacred scroll, which represents knowledge......While the right wing clutches a longsword bearing ancient runes etched in the steel which refers to its origin..
His colours were Sapphire Blue with Silver & Black
His Second was the lovely and talented elf, Spikushell. She hath been with him from the beginning...
He dueled for the Honor of the stunningly beautiful Lady Sher.
His love for her grows stronger with each passing day,
and for that of the Guardians of Truth and Atrebla.
The Warlord stood alone this evening, having neither Second nor Lady of Honor. He dueled for himself, and for the challenge itself.
This evening proved to be most challenging and entertaining.
The two combatants were well and equally matched in skill, with barely a hairsbreadth difference......

The duel was as follows:

Ring of Tyche..... Round One.....
The Barons starts off with an aggressive move, taking his blade low.....
Not to be undone by the fine balance of the move, Jesse comes in low as well....
The two meet, but only Jesse's Fine Fancy takes the point...
((LC/FCP))
Score Round One... AJay... 0.... Jesse... 1

Ring of Tyche.... Round Two....
The Baron moves to the side, quickly looking fer tha advantage with some fancy stepping
But he finds only the nearly bone crushing impact of Jesse's dangerous sweep...
((FSS/LC))
Score Round Two... AJay - 0.... Jesse - 2

Ring of Tyche.... Round Three....
Jesse, hoping to keep the momentum up and flowing, continues with a most aggressive jab to tha ribs.
Seeing the jab, and knowing what it could cost, Ajay reverses his blade and comes in high with a grand and fancy lateral parry... sweeping the jab to the side.
((FLP/TH))
Score Ring 3..... Ajay -- 1... Jesse -- 2

RIng of Tyche.... Round Four....
Moving in a tried and true manner, Jesse comes in low once again for a near perfect sweep, moving up and under Ajay's blade....
But not before the Baron strikes true himself with a perfect thrust.
((TH/LC))
Score Round 4 All Tied at 2

Ring of Tyche.... Round Five....
Jesse continues on with an aggressive jab ta Ajay's chest....
Too bad fer Ajay he ducked and took it a bit higher....
((DU/TH))
Score Round Five Ajay -- 2.... Jesse -- 3

Ring of Tyche..... Round Six....
In sudden belief that each of the two fine duelists are going to attach...
They both move in grand defense... Both mirroring each other ...
((FCP/FCP))...
Score Round Six.... Ajay... 2..... Jesse still leads at 3

Ring of Tyche.... Round Seven....
Jesse, full of confidence in his moves, comes in again low for a sweep to knock the Baron from his feet....
But the Baron, ready and waiting fer the move, brings his blade forward once again to tie the score with a thrust
((TH/LC))
Score Round 7.... Tied at 3

Ring of Tyche.... Round Eight....
A jump and a spin put Jesse right in line to kick firmly ta Ajay's jaw...
Or it would have if The Baron hadn't tucked and rolled out of the way in a fancy duck...
((FDU/HC))
Score Round Eight.... Ajay -- 4.... Jesse -- 3

Ring of Tyche..... Round Nine....
One can see the skill of both duelists in this grand duel... wonderful action....
Skill and timing are everything as Jesse finds with a grand fancy roll to the sands stealing the point over AJay's fancy low parry
((FCP/FDU))
Score Round Nine.... All Tied at 4

Ring of Tyche.... Round Ten.....
This is the telling round..... We can see the true skill of the fine duelists in the ring....
The Baron shows his skill experience in a cut so low... so fine... so exquisite
That Jesse can't help but be impressed as it slides right in under his attempted block
((LC/FLP))
Score Roung Ten... AJay --5.... Jesse -- 4

Thus did The Baron AJay Bird of Ballentyne retain his right to wear the Second Baronial Ring.

This I did witness.....

It doesn't look like that ring is going to leave Ajay's finger until he decides it does.

Congratulations on another fine defense.

Well,

The match was well fought by a challenger who always fights well. It was well fought by a Baron who always fights well. The results? The person who was sincerely more deserving of the ring won. Who says there is no such thing as good people truly getting what they deserve?

Gives the passing Aja a quick kiss as she passes her near the ancient board, smiling brightly seeing Baron Bird was victorious.
