When I am Overlord...
From: rolandsal@aol.com (Roland Sal)

Seeing the few posts on "When I am the Overlord" or "Should I take the title" or whatever you want to call it. I got an idea, yes, an idea!
Why not ask the people what exactly they would do should they ever become Overlord.
Overlord Roland! I for one would make it a point to have fun within the honorable and respectful bounds of the arena's unspoken rules, have flexable policies and an open ear in most of the current issues, and to make it a point to keep the crown polished daily!
I'll have to think up some more, but breakfast is done and who wants to miss out on Inn food, right?
Anyway, let's hear some feed back. This should be real good.
Oh, and don't feel ashamed or embaressed to come forth and talk about the what if's. Regardless of rank, I wanna hear responses, because I know most anyone who has ever heard of the rank of Overlord has wanted the title. Whether it for a second or a year. Besides, anyone who cries bloody murder here about how someone else feels he would do when taking the title of Overlord some day should be drug out in the street and stoned by small pebbles that
itch upon inpact!

When I am Overlord....
It will be because neccessity requires it.
My last challenge for the title was for want of the challenge.
The next one....if there is one, will be because there is no other alternative.
I make no bones about regaining my title as Baron though. And I believe someone has mine. A situation to be remedied soon enough to be sure.

When I am Overlord...
::scratches out the above message::
You know what, instead of dreaming, I think I'm just going to get me a warlord rank and around fifteen peer wins and challenge you-know-who. Then I'll see what happens.

When I am Overlord..hah, right...I'll never be Overlord, but if I could, I wouldn't want to be....every move you make, you get badgered...you have to be a strong commited person to take the pressure, and laird knows that I have enough things to do trying to scratch out a meager livin' and take care of them animals...

When I am Overlord, loyal barons can become members of my harem...err dueling club... and renegade barons will be turned to ducks and/or tortured by the goblins, which punishment to be determined by the whims of the goblins. Neutral barons will spend half the week as ducks, half the week in my dueling club and only need fear goblin torture when they (the neutral barons) displease me.
Married or otherwise inconvenienced barons will be banished unless their partners want to join the club as well.

~The Hyperion Cleric, while having few aspirations to be "Overlord" of anything beyond the watery domain of a ship called Revenant, yet finds the subject an appealing one. Her Father who had once stood as Overlord for an absent King, with the aim of commanding a small childs laughter, had a standard reply to such a question. Recalling the words in a rush, on a whim of nostalgia she pens them to the board,...to the best of her recollection.
If I were King ...
I'd command each thing, be it fish or fowl.
With a woof and a woof, and a royal growl.
As I'd click my heel
All the trees would kneel
And the mountains bow
And the bulls kowtow
And the sparrow would take wing
...Each rabbit would show respect to me.
The chipmunks genuflect to me.
Though my voice would lash
I would show compash
For every underling.
IF -- I... --- were King.

Well... an interesting question Roland.
Still, I am reminded of a personal promise I made to myself and my daughter Delilah...
I shall never seek the crown of the Overlord of the Duel of Swords... I leave that goal to my daughters, should they ever wish it.
Personally, I hope that if either of my daughters takes up dueling when they're old enough that they do surpass any achievements I make... though whatever choises the make or goals they achieve will make me proud.

When I am Over Scot, there will be Haggis served at all the Inns, Scotch will be Rhy Dins national drink. Kilts will be the dress code requirement for all duelers. Sidartha will defend me without question, Jona will have no need for a translater as all in RhyDin will be required to take classes in her native tongue.
This will be a short lived title as I will have been challenged before the ink is dry on the new standings and it will no doubt be by one whom has proven themselves worthy in the eyes of those who matter.
