A small gnome approaches the boards. He pulls out a stool from beneath his cloak and chuckles. "Italwayspaystobeprepared." Standing on the stool, he reads a few of the notes tacked to the board. Then he pulls out a piece of paper and an everfull quill, of his own design, of course. He writes:
DearDoSPatrons,
I hope that is the way I am supposed to begin this message. It seems to be the most popular way, at least on the messages I have read.
I would just like to take a moment and thank all the lovely ladies who made me feel welcome in the arena a few nights ago.
Jonalyn: thank you for the smiles and taking time to speak to a gnome. Most people for some reason avoid talking to us. Thank you also for accepting my offer to invent something for you. I promise it will be something spectacular.
Queen Teleperien of Eldicor: I would like to thank you for speaking to me. I have never spoken to a real live queen before, and must admit, it was quite a thrill. Perhaps I will invent something for you as well. Thank you also for offering to allow me to visit your homeland. I have never been to a country which has two summers in the same year, which your homeland must as you told me you are 30 summers old, and you look no older than 18
or 20 years of age. Perhaps there were some years that only had a single summer, I hope when I visit there are two summers, I have been to plenty of lands with one summer but would love to visit a land with two summers.
Karen and Jola: Thank you for allowing me to visit during your shifts. Many of the hosts I am sure would have told me to leave or at least speak slower, but you beautiful ladies were understanding and charming and beautiful and willing to allow me to just be myself and for that I am truly grateful, perhaps I will invent something for you pretty ladies as well, I am a wonderful inventor and have invented quite a few things in my time, some of
which actually worked.
And for all the gentlemen in the arena who objected to my presence: I can only say that jealousy does not become many people, but you gentlemen seemed to welcome it anyway, perhaps I will invent something to help you all resist the jealousy and envy many of you must have felt.
Thank you all for your time and I hope to eventually meet each of you, or at least those of you who want to meet me.

The gnome climbs atop his stool once more and tacks the message in place with a device which, if seen by another, would seem to be quite strange as it shoots out a nail to hold the note in place. Then the gnome climbs off his stool, puts it back inside his cloak, and walks off, pushing his incredibly thick spectacles up on his nose. As he bumps into a chair, he tips his hat and says: "ExcusemesirIdidnotseeyouthere.Haveagoodday." then he walks
off.

The commoner comes upon the missive as she peruses the ancient cork, a smile quirking at her mouth. She glances over toward Marcus as he giggles, "Al's griping about some short guy talking to the chairs and refuses to put padding on the backs." Hubie snickers. Al sticks his tongue out at Marcus, "Tattletail!!" Marcus grins impishly, "Did you see that thing he
used to stick the note up?" Hubie guffaws, "Strangest thing I ever saw!!!" She chortles softly, snags her quill, jots a note, tacking it to the board.

::she pauses to peer at the tip of her quill, then resharpens the tip::
Tis indeed a pleasure to hae made thine acquaintance. I canna imagine anna reason for folk to avoid talking with a gnome, especially one ast generous, friendly and talkative ast thee. Thou art verra kind, I shall look forward to seeing thine invention.
Jona
She wander off, leaving the kids to their usual mischief. Nemo drops another stack of plates.
