The following is a brief review of the Archmage Tournament preliminaries that transpired on Sunday, July 14th, 2002, gleaned from Taree Barbarossa's report of those proceedings.

Round 1.
Will Wulfson def. Vincent Mask, 6-5, in 12 rounds.
Cassius Maximus def. Syous of Mystara, 6.5-5, in 17 rounds.
Wulfson and Cassius (1-0). Syous and Vincent (0-1)

Round 2.
Will Wulfson def. Cassius Maximus, 8.5-7.5, in 17 rounds.
Syous of Mystara def. Vincent Mask, 5-2.5, in 9 rounds.
Wulfson (2-0). Syous and Cassius(1-1). Vincent (0-2), eliminated.

Round 3.
Will Wulfson - bye.
Syous of Mystara def. Cassius Maximus, 5.5-4, in 9 rounds.
Wulfson (2-0). Syous (2-1). Cassius (1-2), eliminated.

Round 4.
Will Wulfson def. Syous of Mystara, 5-3.5, in 8 rounds.
Wulfson(3-0). Syous (2-2), eliminated.

Thus did Will Wulfson earn the right to challenge Archmage and Celestial Keeper Gloria Blaze for the throne and title. The best of three challenge match is scheduled for Tuesday, July 16th, to begin at 8 PM of the eastern clock.
