On Sunday evening, magic filled the air of the Duel of Swords Annex as nine combatants faced off in the Duel of Magic's first ever three way tournament. The prize for the evening was a magically imbued ring that gives it's wearer the use of the entire array of dueling spells for the duration of a week. The participants were as follows: Topaz Eludes, Xerzes Maureen, Harris D'Artainian, Horatio Macbeth, Andrew Pyre, Max Blue, Roz Ripsnort, Nehima Balthasar and Gork.

Round One saw Topaz vs. Gork vs. Horatio, Xerzes vs. Andrew vs. Roz, and Harris vs. Max vs. Nehima. Alliances for the evening began forming early as Topaz and Horatio banded together to eliminate Gork after eleven hard fought rounds. Xerzes ended up on the end of Andrew's and Roz's spell crafting, and Harris and Nehima managed to send Max packing.

With Gork, Xerzes, and Max gone, Round Two saw Topaz, Horatio and Roz in Ring One and Harris, Andrew and Nehima in Ring Two. The cowgirl Roz couldn't hold up against the assault of Topaz and Horatio while Harris and Andrew formed an alliance that would last the duration of the tournament, barely managing to knock out Nehima by a margin of only 0.5.

Round Three left Topaz, Horatio, Harris, and Andrew. Topaz, having the highest WoL, was granted the bye and Horatio, Harris, and Andrew found a ring for the quarterfinal. Harris and Andrew decided to keep at their tactics, teaming up to wear down Horatio in ten rounds.

The semifinal pitted Topaz vs. the near unbeatable duo of Harris and Andrew. With the deadly combination of both mage powers against her, Topaz lasted only six rounds before Harris and Andrew claimed their win.

However, there could be only one in the end. Harris and Andrew faced off for the final duel of the evening. Throughout the entire thirteen round duel, neither gained a lead of more than a point. In the end though, Andrew sneaked in beneath Harris' arctic blast to become the ultimate winner, taking the duel 5-4.

Before claiming the final prize as his own, Andrew offered it first to Harris, however Harris declined saying Andrew deserved it more than he. Thus, Andrew Pyre receives use of the magical ring for the duration of one week. (Through Sunday the 22nd). Congratulations Andrew on a hard-fought victory.
