Yester eve, the 25th of March, I did have the Honour and Privilege to witness the Challenge for the Thirteenth Baronial Ring. The Baron Sir Magnus Eques met with the Warlady Gold on Twilight Island.... Stars and Moon bearing witness to the event.
The Baron dueled under his home colours of Polaris, Black with a centered red star.
He was Seconded by his good friend, Evan Rush Rynth. He dueled with his hatchet, "Drachen's Hatchet", as well as his sword, "Dual Blade", for the Honour of his departed mother, who he believes watches over him still.
The Warlady dueled under her family banner which carries a black background trimmed with gold, a shield sporting her family crest sits boldly in the center. She elected to name her second on the Field, asking Baron Oakenshield to carry the duty for her.
He accepted the Honour, stepping forward to stand at her side as second. She carried her trusted steel and friend, "Sanctuary", onto the field, dueling for the honour of her Lord Luther Zar.

The duel went as follows:



Ring of Tyche.... Round One.....
The Warlady spins, light on her feet.... Blade flashing low..... glinting in the light
The Baron.... As light and quick, spins Dual Blade high.... However neither connect as both have parried....

Score Tyche One.... Zero to Zero in the first round

Ring of Tyche.... Round Two....
Magnus moves forward with deliberate force
The Warlady reciprocates, moving quickly as well
The Baron sweeps by her...... The Warlady steps to the side...
Avoiding the thrust and taking the round

Score Tyche.... The Warlady leads... 1 - 0 in round Two

Ring of Tyche.... Round Three....
Gold circles slowly as she waits for the perfect chance
Magnus as well watches his opponent...
The time is right and the Baron moves in low and fast......
The Warlady comes in high and hard...... Scoring over the circular parry of the Baron

Score Tyche.... The Warlady leads still.... 2 - 0 in round Three

Ring of Tyche... Round Four....
Swinging Dual Blade in a glittering arc, The Baron approaches quickly
Seeing the impending peril, Gold dodges and feints low.....
The blade passes cleanly over her head, whistling as it goes by....
Point to the Warlady

Score Tyche.... The Warlady leads .... 3 - 0 in round Four

Ring of Tyche.... Round Five....
Snapping out of her roll, Gold jumps to her feet lightly..... Sanctuary glistening in the torchlight as she too brings her blade down in a glittering arc.....
The Baron, seeing the blade's descent, drops low in an effort to roll under it...
However.... Gold brings the blade lower yet and connects solidly

Score Tyche.... The Warlady leads with 4 to 0 in round Five

Ring of Tyche.... Round Six....
The two circle again, blades flashing brightly....
Gold brings Sanctuary up...
Magnus... seeing the move, raises his blades as well and advances... Quick on his feet, the Baron dashes forward...
Gold, in an effort to evade, moves to the side...... But not quick enough.....
His high cut connecting solidly as she steps away

Score Tyche.... Gold... 4.... The Baron... 1 in round Six

Ring of Tyche.... Round Seven.....
Magnus brings the blade to bear on the steadfast form of The Warlady...
Gold holds firm as she readies Sanctuary as well....
The Baron advances swiftly..... The Warlady awaits.... Quickly she cuts high......
Just as quick he reads her movements and comes in hard..... His thrust passing under her cut

Score Tyche.... The Baron.... 2.... The Warlady... 4 in round seven

Ring of Tyche.... Round Eight
Reversing his stance, The Baron brings his hatchet to bear
Not seeing the smaller weapon, her eyes on the larger blade, Gold takes a risk
She moves quickly and competently, slashing the Baron across his chest...
But the Baron's small hatchet was there first.... Cutting her low

Score Tyche.... The Baron... 3.... The Warlady... 4.... in round eight

Ring of Tyche.... Round Nine....
Keeping with the aggressive tack, the Baron again moves forward forcefully...
The Warlady, carefully watching both blades now, moves as well....
Dodging the smaller hatchet, she brings her larger blade swiftly around...
Dual Blade arcs harmlessly to the side as her parry has found it's mark.

Score Tyche.... The Baron... 3..... The Warlady 4.5 in round nine

Ring of Tyche.... Round Ten
Gold moves toward an aggressive stance.. bringing Sanctuary low....
The Baron brings his blade low as well..... The lights play across the blades as they meet......
The Warlady's blade arcs to the side.... The Barons circles low in a perfect parry....

Score Tyche... The Baron now stands at 4... the Warlady leads at 4.5 in round Ten

Ring of Tyche.... Round Eleven.....
Both duelist slide back from the aggression..... Watching carefully as they move.... Gold moves back.... away from the low movement of Magnus
But she misread it... Magnus dropped in a Fancy Duck, rather than a cut
Neither Score.... (FDU/DIS)
Score Tyche still stands at 4 - 4.5 for the Warlady in round eleven

RDI Khrys: Tyche..... Twelve..........
Circling and nearly dancing, the Warlady is light on her feet.... The Baron moves warily, keeping careful watch on his opponent.... Suddenly, they both move with the speed of lightning.... Magnus brings his blade across in a near perfect move.... Gold moves hers in fast as well...... Gold's however was just a bit quicker... the edge just a bit sharper....
She slides across his slash, scoring the point and taking the win

The Warlady defeats The Baron.... Score is 5.5 - 4 in round twelve

After twelve grueling rounds of a well matched and well fought duel, the Warlady Gold did take the Ring....

Congratulations Baron Gold....

The new Baron did declare herself Renegade to the Crown....

Well defended, your reign was long and eventful and no one, but no one, can say that you did not carry yourself and the ring with a dignified honor that some men only dream about. A valiant comeback from an equally valiant man. Salutations my friend.

Why doesn't she just go to DOM? Nuttin' like lettin' the DoS'rs know there was even a barons ring up to challenge.
