::Walks up and just leaves a thought::

To all,
I seem to always come back here even though the first time I was put under the spot light here.....well yall remember as do I. I came here tonight not to bring up past wounds but to leave a thought. It would seem that the DoS is coming apart, I might be wrong but under Dalamar or Athlstan would the problems plague us now? If we could keep an Overlord for more than a month would stability not come back over this realm. I would suggest to ask one
such as Daelin or Jeff or even Lupton to vie for the crown. I understand what I have said. I know that many will turn this into another childish bashing or name calling that the DoS is very famous for. I still wanted to voice these words and ask for some feedback.

Meth,

For many of us who have been asked to try for the overlord title in the past, we have come to the same conclusion that being overlord will be the end of the road. Myslef and Jeff, as far as I know, never have plans to become overlord until such time as we have reached the end of our roads. After being overlord, many of us will retire from the duels permanently.

I think that many people just aren't ready to hang thier trunks up yet.

Dear Billy,

Historiclly, it seems you are correct about Overlord being the last thing in your dueling career, but this isn't always the case.

To Methous: Did the arena have problems when Dal was in charge?
At your service,

Meth,

Many would say that the cause of some of the prombles was how long Dal's reign lasted...just a thought.

Short reigns at overlord aren't anything new. In fact, they happened quite often in the "good old days" (as it were).

No one complained then that the duels were going to hell in a handbasket, because they weren't.

Therefore I conclude that short reigns and/or instability at overlord are not the cause of any problems we have.

I thank you both for replying Zen, and Cletus. I figured you'd be two of the first to start insulting or bashing or something else childish. No offense I'm just skittish in my old age :)

Whoo Boy. Let me say a couple of things about this sentence. I haven't had an urge to take the crown yet, maybe I will one day. Jeff feels the same I believe, actually I'm pretty sure he does. Lupton, well..I think he's focused on becoming a Baron once again. Anywho..one day I may go for the Crown, who knows..but once you take that mantle, you find out who your true friends and enemies are , as I learned from a former steward of the Overlordship, and
I don't think I'm ready for that information. I'm glad someone, thinks I'd be worthy even if no one else does. But like Billy Ray said..that's more of a "if it's the last thing I do" type deals. As for Ar'Daumon, I relate that to a story I heard once about a country far away. It was a really powerful country and the other regional countries hated each other but they kept quiet for fear of the powerful country silencing them. Once that country did
decline, the regional countries began fighting. I saw Dalamar as the superpower and ourselves warring amongst each other and him. This story may not have anything to do with what anyone else thinks, that's just how I saw it. And as someone else said, the newer generation (Excluding the one now) only new Dalamar as Overlord, after he lost, pandemonium erupted, but I knew that other Overlord's had led very short reigns. Just my input.

I was thinking the same thing as Dae. Perhaps it is simply our community as a whole, nothing to do with overlord. Or perhaps since many here only knew Dalamar as the overlord, they weren't use to the many overlords as in the past, or now presant. Though I feel throwing this upon the overlord isn't fair. It is the community who needs the changing, personally I felt Eros was a grand overlord, and him taking the crown was better off than leaving
it in the same hands for so long, as everything needs change. Though now it simply slips through hands does sand, a more stable overlord couldnt hurt in my eyes, perhaps Unagi can accomplish that.

Meth...

Zen didn't insult you... Heck, he didn't really insult anyone...
Cletus vaguely hinted that Dalamar having held the crown for so long might have been the source of some of the current problems... He did not say that Dalamar was a bad person or a bad Overlord... just that possibly the length of his reign might have caused problems.

I'd like to know why you think they insulted you or anyone else.

M'lady Drake,
I didn't say they had insulted me. I said they didn't. I also thanked them for it. If my words seem confusing to you I'm sorry. I'll be more careful in the future.

Patrons of Dos

As i read through your messaging i notice many things about each dueler as they place their thoughts in a note.

It would seem that the DoS is coming apart, I might be wrong but under
>Dalamar or Athlstan would the problems plague us now? If we could keep an
>Overlord for more than a month would stability not come back over this realm

Some claim that Dos is falling apart because of the period of time that the overlord reigns its kingdom. Methous why should it make any discern the enduring time that an overlord reigns its kingdom if the overlord has no power to commence with?
What is then do we ask the purpose of the overlord?

"The Overlord does not rule the DoS, in any sense of the word. In reality, Overlord is just a title, or a rank. The only real power the Overlord has is as a figurehead, or someone to look up to. "
If i happen to be wrong please correct me.

To me...
I feel a sadness inside me sometimes, which most cannot see due to the jokes I have with many of my friends.
I'm worried about the DoS, as many other people are, I'm sure. Maybe it's this excessive worrying of where DoS is heading is causing a tension in the air which makes things seem so different.
I'm not leaving. Many are because they long for an arena they used to enjoy. I have no doubt that things will get better. After all, when things seem as worse as they possibly seem to be, there's only one way to go from there: up.
