Challenge of the Overlord

She remained at the Dead Nicholas, nursing an aching body, bruises and cuts. It had been a glorious night for her, but not without cost to her person. She'd planned on challenging the Overlord at somepoint in her life and now seemed as good of a time as any. She had plans for the duels, if only she could find it in herself to have the strength to defeat the Overlord. It would all become clear in a matter of time.

She glanced down at her still trembling hand and sighed softly. "It is time to make my mark, I must find patience from within", she whispered. Many things had transpired over the past two evenings, but she'd yet been able to decipher it all. Her Blood sister had behaved stranger than ever both evenings, but she'd had no opportunity to confront the issues that seemed to be engulfing Mimi.

Finally, she signed and handed the missives to the messengers waiting outside the door and headed to join William for a quiet dinner in his quarters. One of the messengers headed to the Arena to post a copy of the formal challenge to the Overlord, for all of the community to witness.

Honorable Unagi San,

By virtue of tournament prize, I hearby declare my challenge for the Overlord crown.

Having held the first Baron's ring previously, it is my wish to instead take the prize of intercession free match against yourself, the Overlord. It is with honor and respect I will cross blades with one skilled as yourself. I hold no ill regard for you sir, but merely wish to proceed with the match awarded to me.

I await your response, suggesting a time and date of your convenience.

He sat silently with her at dinner, proud as can be but seeing that she was in desperate need to just relax and forget this night. Some good wine, good food and a long rub down could do wonders for the tired soul. It was strange that he felt no remorse at having lost his first two matches on the second night of dueling. There was a day when he'd have alreay made challenge himself in response to his loss.

As he broke open the lobster claw he wondered what it would be like to be the plaything of the overbabe.

He grinned to himself over that.
