If "power corrupts" is the best you can come up with when trying to show that all thirteen Barons are corrupt, then you really need to just stop.
The bottom line is, you have no proof the council voted the way we did because we thought about what Daelin would like or something like that. We each voted according to how we felt about the situation, not the people involved. I was involved, I know. You were not involved, you do not know.
And, damn you, Var. You're supposed to keep our plans a secret. I guess I had better get that cross ready . . .

Daelin has showed probably the best poise and character of a dueler in these circumstances then I could ever ask for. He is probably one of the most well intended and acting barons I have seen in awhile.
