little checking

::Smiles as he post a little note::
I was motivated to do a little history checking. I went back and checked all who had held rings, holds rings, and WoL records. I have come to this conclusion, "Jeff, is the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be." I only found 3 people I might compare to him, Var, Warbird, and Dalamar.
respectfully,
Meth

While I'm flattered Methous would conclude such I will say something about each mark. My opinions are not meant ta make me out as humble, but rather ta shed light on why statistics aren't everything.
First off - most rings: My opinion is, da more rings ya have held only shows how many rings ya have lost. Da fact I have been baron 6 times means I have lost 5 times. While I do not mean ta take away from da great accomplishment of earning a ring; besting a baron in a duel, you will rarely find me bragging I have held 6 rings. Why do I rechallenge whenever I lose? It is simple, I enjoy life as a baron, I enjoy being apart of DoS' political scene.
It has nothing ta do with records or statistics.
Secondly - most WoLs: WoLs are an odd accomplishment. You have ta duel a lot ta get 'em, but you also have ta have a great winning %. You can duel a million times and if your a 50/50 dueler you'll come out with 0 WoL. However after a million duels your a 51/49 dueler, you'll have whatever 1% of a million is, I think its 10,000 WoL. Its hard ta judge whether someone has earned deir wins over losses by sound dueling or by sheer effort.
Personally, I believe I have held a respectable winning % over my years, but I never kept records like Gnort, so I couldn't break it down exactly; judge fer yerself my merit based on my WoL
I am proud of what I have accomplished, I have worked hard fer all dat I've earned. Respect is a greater accomplishment dan any numerical record or baronial ring. If I am respected as a good dueler, and remembered by my peers as such, I have been a successful dueler. Of all my numeric records, da one I treasure most is defending Leto Covington without fail in both of my opportunities ta champion him. Fer all aspiring duelers lookin' ta make a
name fer him or herself, I would say da greatest feeling in all dueling is knowing yer win helped out a friend. Being a champion is better dan being a baron or an overlord, being a champion is da true pinnacle of DoS.

Of all duelers who could be compared to duelers like Jeff, Dal, or Warbird, I would be one of the last.
Var Medici-Giovanni
Proud Father, Proud Husband
Phantom Scots Captain
Baron of the 10th

Say Jeff...
Are you saying that, back when Leto was Overlord, you supported the Test so much that you became his champion twice... and when Dal was Overlord, you supported the Test so much that you became his champion four times...
Yet, after Dal lost the crown, you stated that you never liked or approved of the Test.
This is not a personal attack on you Jeff, but I would like to know why you told me yourself that you never approved of the Test, when you so clearly participated in it's use many times.

Drakewyn,
I am very much opposed ta Overlord intercession fer barons. Many know how I feel about loyal barons standing fer da Overlord, as I have so many times. It is quite a different situation depending who is challenged. Personally, I fight fer myself, which is why I would not be a good Overlord right now; my values would clash.

Jeff.
Thank you.
So many people confuse the "Test of Worthiness" and the Intersession of the Overlord for a Loyal Baron.
I'm glad to see you are true to those beliefs, and do see a difference between the two.
