It was still hours before the wedding would take place, and Avery was making his way to the park. The air was crisp with a slight chill to it, as he wrapped his cloak around a bit tighter. He was going to meet Red for the reading lessons. How ironic that the first day of knowledge would come on the first day of a new life. He was all smiles as he entered the park, heading to the location of the grassy hillside.

Red wasn't there yet, as he made his way to the meeting spot. Sitting down he just sort of stared off, letting the soft breeze blow against him. His thought wandering to the evening ahead of him. He was happy, he could honestly said that. Soon he would have a wife, and in a few months he would have a child. A healthy baby he could love forever. How long he sat there he didn't know, but he snapped to when he heard Red's voice.

"Hey there shorty" She was smiling as she sat down with him. As she sat down she tossed the book into his lap. Avery just smiled at the greeting, as he looked her over. Once again he looked to her shirt, wondering just what it said this time. Soon he would know, soon he would be able to read.

"Heya stork." It was a new name for her. Because she was so tall and all. He looked down to the book, as Red shifted around making herself comfortable. Opening it he saw some pictures, as he quirked a brow.

"A kids book? What's this?" He thumbed through it looking at the pictures. She started to speak when he looked up from the book. He lost all of what she was saying, because it was then that he saw him. The other reason he was here.

It was only a few days ago, at the last Overlord challenge that he had the meeting. His name was Owen. A distant relative to Red. He had wanted to find her, and asked if Avery knew anything of her. Well, of course he had. Red was going to begin giving him lessons on how to read. How cool would it be to surprise Red, by having him show up to the lesson? So he sent Christopher to give him the time and spot of the lesson, so that Owen could surprise
her. He was doing a good thing, bringing a family member to see Red. So he only smiled as Owen approached from Reds back side.

His eyes tried not to give it away, as he watched the man close the distance. He was moving very fast, as he came. The flash of emotion went past Avery's eyes, as he watched. Something was wrong about this. Red must have caught that emotion in his eyes, because she snapped around to look. Her moves were fast, and graceful as the action went into place. Turning a shoulder she rolled down the hillside, getting out of the way of the charging man. It
was at this time that Avery started to move forward, getting up off his butt. Yet, he had waited to long, as there was nothing he could do. The man tackled right into him, rolling over on top, as the two tumbled down the hill some. It was one swift punch, as he raised the hand up, and brought it down. Avery had lifted his head trying to get up as the punch landed. The force was hard, and sent his head straight back into the ground. It was this blow
that knocked him out. His head hit the ground with a resounding crunch, and Avery was out. He never saw what happened to Red, as his body laid still.
