Gaius Marius Colestae',

Polarian,

Ill cut straight to the point. You want my ring but you will not get it. Destroying you in this challenge will be just a forgettable step between dinner and scotch for me. I just wanted you to know that.

I will not be asking for Avery to intercede because that would be acknowledging that there was a possibility of me losing. There isnt. I will be dueling for Rome, and myself. Cas will be my second. My wife Lisana will be lady of honor etc.

It is your fault that the eighth ring now stands tarnished on your friend's finger. I will not allow you to taint the 2nd as well. Because Polarian grime is hell to polish off of metals.

Is tommorow night too soon for you? I dont want this laughable challenge hanging over my head and cramping my style for much longer than that. You can choose the RDI. I will beat you little Polarian, as I would have beaten your brother had circumstance not conspired against me.

Marius ego sum, dominum cognoscite vestrum.

Be Well,

Gaius Marius Colestae'

Magnus Centurion of Imperial Rome.

Commander of Legions at Lugdunum, Carthago, Capua, & Ravenna.

Godfather of the FSH philosophy.

Sword Baron of the Second.

Civus Romanus.

Gah, talk about rude. Sounds like me way back in the day when I held the fourth that first time and Dal's friends lined up to take it.

Cletus, you're ok in my book. Open a huge can-o-whoop arse on him.

I think this should speak volumes about the challenger. Marius, decimate him.

As Barons, well....good luck Marius.

Don't you just hate the ones where you can't pick a favorite?

...of course, the dilemma used to be between Jeff and Ellisa. As if any more proof was needed to prove that the good old days really are gone.

Marius,
I am simply curious to know exactly what about being challenged by a three-time former baron constitutes a "laughable challenge".

Arane,

I don't speak fer Marius, but I can offer up an interpretation of why its a laughable challenge. Cletus seemed ta base his reason fer challenge on da fact dat Marius, in da past, challenged Magnus (his brother). It does seem kinda funny when a serious challenge is placed under da pretense "You tried ta hurt my brother and now I'm gonna try ta hurt ya".

As a final note, while ya may be impressed and proud of Cletus' track record in challenge matches, his bein' a 3-time baron does not make his reasoning any more valid dan Joe Schmoe who might challenge. I'm not sayin' Cletus can't duel, I'm sayin' his bein' a former baron does not convey immunity ta makin' silly challenges.

While Cletus may very well hate Marius and want his ring, da way he phrased his reason fer challenging is a bit laughable.

Jeffrey,

In lieu 'o ta fact th' Marius 'imself be a comedy ast a Baron, tis nae surprisin' th' Cletus' challenge shouldst be laughable. Fittin' if'n ye ask me.

There's sumptin' funny about that? What'd be funny is if he denied he was a greedy s.o.b. that really just wants a ring and actually spent time to make up a somewhat believable, yet totally b.s. reason--like so many others.

Cletus,

Spank 'im red and leave 'im crying and naked on the street, just like an unwanted Roman newborn. Hehheh.
