Duelists,
After having had a chance to explore the arena a few night's ago, I discovered a few things that I think deserve looking at. First is the condition of the stairs that lead down from the inn to the arena floor. They seem sturdy enough, I jumped on them several times, but they looked like they could use a touchup and polish. And the other thing I noticed was the state of the skyboxes above the rings. I think these seats should be put to use, as
they offer a great view of all of the rings below. They, however, need some work. So my proposal is to restore these seats along with the stairs. I've attempted to contact the dwarven company that was responsible for the addition of the annex a few years back, but haven't received word from them yet.
That said, I was wondering if any of you would care to pitch in and make this more of a community effort. I'm no architect, but it doesn't seem there are any structural concerns, so I don't see any problem with us doing it. The arena's coffers are full enough to provide all of the supplies we'd need. I guess the point of this letter is to find out if anyone's interested in lending a hand. Any takers?

Well Billy, if ya would stop kicking in the door, maybe they'd stop charging you. Or you can do what I do, cut holes in the roof and drop in that way. Anyhow, I am game for your idea Val. There is only one problem I see... Even if we could restore the skyboxes, as you may have noticed, they likely would not be put to use as of late. But I will throw in if needed.

Thee may hae to find a competent and professional locksmith to see about making entrance into this skybox

Thee mayhap hae noticed that the other skybox be rather oversized in all respects. That wast constructed in that manner to accommodate the massive draconian.
Mind thee also, there be ast thee certes hae noticed, several banners hanging from the rafters high over the rings. Thee wouldst certes wish to apprise any thee may hire to see to renovations to be especially careful nae to disturb or damage them.
Thee may perhaps wish to seek delivery of materials for the renovations from the far flung and exotic realms and homelands of the various personages which frequent the basement.

In the dark of night, while the arena was empty, a team of construction workers stole into the basement. Utilizing a key given them by its original builder, they entered the skybox overlooking the main rings, and quickly began dismantling it.
By dawn, there was no remaining trace of the skybox in question. The foreman left a note.
"Lord Valentine:
Your arrogance in proposing to 'renovate' someone else's property without even the minor courtesy of discussing it with them serves only to show that you aren't worth the dirt on your father's boots.
Enjoy your tyrannical dictatorship. I'm uninterested in having any part of it.
Venomously,
Ian Rex."
Clambering across the rafters, the foreman then removed the Caithness banner before swinging back to the floor and departing with his crew.

Assumption is the mother of all screw-ups, or so I've been told. If you read my letter closely, you'd notice that I carefully used the words that such a renovation was a "proposal," not a mandate. The observant reader would also be able to tell that is was an effort to find whether the interest for said project was great enough to actually proceed. If no one cared for it, then it wouldn't happen. If you had issue with it, it was your opportunity
to voice your dissenting opinion. It would seem, however, you've taken matters into your own hands and solved your own problem. Fair enough. Perhaps someday you'll find the desire to return to the arena under my tyrannical, bloodthirsty reign. Perhaps not. Have a pleasant day in either case.

Billy strolled out of the mens room just as Gnort pointed out the open space where Ian's skybox used to be. Rubbing his chin he looked up at the empty space where house "Cake walks" banner used to hang.
"I dunno Gnort, I think we could put that space ta' some real good use. It's a shame Ian jumped the gun and pulled out prematurely." He had to stifle a laugh at his unintended pun before continuing. "I think we could make that into a commentators box for the callers. Kind of a place ta' keep them out of the way and give them a better view. We could put in a top of the line sound system and possibly a few wall sized television screens to enhance
