gifted her, drives it through the paper, holding it fast to the board::

It is not the critic that counts
It is not the one who points out how a person stumbled or where the doer of deeds could have done them better

The credit belongs to the one who is actually in the Arena
Whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood...who strives valiantly...who errs and comes short again and again....who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions, who spends life in a worthy cause....who knows in the end the triumph of high acheivement

And who at the worst, if one fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that ones place in history shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory or defeat

Sailing through on a last round of the town, she finds her smile again over a copy of the words she'd penned so long ago for a the local paper... relying heavily on a man by the name of Roosevelt.
