Explanation of Position

Patrons,
There has been much speculation of my return and seeming indifference for the duels and their politics.
I have been approached by, it would seem, almost the entire warlord community. Who has wholly, and enmasse asked the same, tired, over asked question.
*What do you intend to do about this?* *What do you intend to do about that?*
The answer is simple patrons and peers. I intend to do NOTHING.
Should that I come to duel it is not to amass peer wins to become a baron or the overlord of seemingly 13 patrons.
This hall does not, and CAN NOT hold the glory, nor the strength of its past. And I, a veteran of its trials and tribulations since the gods only know when say here and now. That there is nothing to be gained here. No honor nor tradition held in the titles, no breath of life in the halls of the common. No FIRE in its warlords. No strength in its baronies.
This hall WILL see me once more. I -will- return. But only when, and only if....there is something here to return to.
9 warlords dueling each other for peer wins in the Arena is a SAD indication that there is NOTHING left here to be vied for. Nothing left to believe in. And certainly nothing left for me to waste any effort or mental exertion over.
Do I plan to dethrone a baron or the current Overlord? Why, I ask, would I want to?
The titles are nothing. Merely trinkets exchanged by...competitors. There are no politics. No loyalities, no truth, no wrong. This hall has sunk to that which is its most base version. Nothing more than a game in which those which feel they can better themselves by vainly attempting to imitate the actions of their peers....those that imbued honor and deciet and warfare so deeply in this hall that its valor and infamy will ALWAYS be what those that
wish to -say- they were part of it, will try to imitate.
I will return full time. And it will be....as it always has been, a very, very nervous time for many.
But for now, fair warlords, barons, and overlord all. You may rest safely in your beds knowing that the Dragonlord does not come for you this season.
I am,

I agree with all that you have said, for the most part, but the fact is, there are actually some people attempting to change it. Jesse Troyan has repeatedly challenged the Warlord populace for a que...we need that. Roland Salsinger has also requested a challenge, and has now stated if he does not recieve one, he will vacate his ring, and then enter the Tournament and try and get it back...we need that as well. We need to be more daring, to speak our
minds more, to no longer be afraid of being verbally lashed when we speak out.
We have a broken chariot....simply put, we need to fix it. What we don't need is a moody Valheru who claims to be remote from all that has happened of late, yet levies accusations as to what the warlords of the sport are doing as if he were a Jonalyn Starfare, contsantly watching. Adonai, you've always stirred up the proverbial pot quite well. And if you want to come back and do so, I look forward to it, though should your politics and goals cross
mine, we will butt heads. But if you plan to sit and snipe from a cozy mountaintop about
how terrible things are, then please do stay away.
In closing, please cut back on the thinly veiled threats. I cannot speak for everyone, but they certainly don't cow me.

Adonai,
Simply spoken, you have not been around, so I presume you do not know all that goes on. Those that dwell on what was, and not what is to be I feel pity for. Enjoy your return, though I feel your views are not shared by all, they are your own, so I will leave them be.

Moronlord,
Here's a reality check. You were never important here. Nobody ever has nor ever will give a damn whether you're dueling or not. You suck in the rings, and you're blinded by your own absurdly overinflated notion of self-worth. Get a clue and a life. The only reason for that absurdly inane post of yours is to assure us that we don't have to tolerate your idiocy or pathetic lack of skill anytime soon. For that, I'd like to personally thank you. I think
I speak for well over 99% of the community when I say you suck and the only thing I miss about you being around is being able to beat you senseless. In closing: Stuff if you worthless never-has-been. Oh, and have a nice day.

In part, I am saddened that I was not present to witness the past glories of the Duel of Swords.
Yet, in part I am gladdened that I was not present then, for it means I do not sit and bewail the passing of those times. It means that I can take pride in the achievements I have witnessed and take heart in the honor I see in many of my contemporaries.
Nothing here pleases me so much as seeing the sheer enthusiasm and joy for the sport I see on the faces of some few of our newer patrons... for it reminds me of the joy and enthusiasm I had myself when I began.
And then I know that for some at least, these are the true days of glory.

Your loss, Adonai. While you seem to constantly look at the rings with sadness, not wanting to duel, people will be having fun in the rings.
Ah well, people sometimes forget what they'd be dueling for, myself included. I do it to further myself in the rings, to have fun, and to constantly learn.
Too bad for you and anyone else who has no will to duel in the rings.

Some are so blindly euphoric that they fail to sympathize with such pessimistic exercises in truth. However, had the hall successively held onto its strong traditions it once bestowed, I might have never found a place here -- I doubt I'm the only one, either.

My question is... Who in the world would ask this Dragonlord, "What do you intend to do about this?"
Insanity.

If you listen closely enough I think you can hear the sound of one person caring...no wait, that's just a cockroach.
