::Tries it again, somewhat scared this time, not wanting to screw up again::
Community,
Roland has asked for a challenge. I oblige. Instead of challenging Damien again, I feel that after my last screw up, I should just stay away from that whole area.
My reasons are as follows:
1) Roland has asked for a challenge.
2) I wish to test his skill as a baron.
3) Maybe I'm opportunistic, but I desperately want to challenge.
4) After the last tried challenge by me, little honor came out of it, I wish to redeem myself this time, with an honorable, fun, friendly challenge.
5) I would like to remove a renegade from Avery's reign, and place one under Damien should he win.
My peers are as follows:
1stFinal Score Xericmues def. Kyorl, 5 - 2 in 8 rounds.((PainIsland))02-10-00
2ndFINAL: Xeric def. Var, 5-4 in 9 roundss((QuickVarMG))02-11-00
3rdFinal Score Xericmues def. GnrtDrgoon, 5 - 3 in 8 rounds.02-11-00
4thXericmues def. DreyStarke, 5.5-4 in 12 rounds.02-11-00
5thXericmues def. Cletus Ganderfald, 5-4 in 9 rounds 2-19-00((kid))
6thHOST DFC Poison: Final Xeric def. Jeff, 5-4 in 8 rounds.(2-24)
7thHOST DFC Silver: Final Score Xericmues def. Flavorless Gum, 5 - 2 in 6 rounds.(2-24)
8thHOST DFC Vanssa: Final score! Xericmues def. Lily King, 5-4 in 11 rounds. !!((2-24))
9thFinal: Xericmues def. Dae Dragonsblade, 5-3 in 13 rounds.((3-25))
10thHOST DFC Fish: Xericmues def. Zamhulem, 5.5-4 in 8 rounds as the 2 trade cuts high 'n low 'n both score ((3-2-00))
I have checked, rechecked, and checked again, and I believe they are safe, and valid. ::Looks over the missive:: Well, I believe that's pretty much it.

Xeric,
Since you screwed up, shouldn't you withdraw from challenging this cycle? Or are you really that desperate to get a ring?
If you really want honor to come out of any challenge you make, you can start by not challenging this cycle.
Just my opinion, though.
Oh, I almost forgot... Smack him around with your blade, Roland.

Well, seeing as how everyone is shooting for Roland, I feel a big time jinx coming on. But the odds remain 3-1 in favor of the baron for now. Any takers?

The woman tacks a missive to the cork, sending a courier to deliver a true copy unto Master Valentine Evermeadow.
Gentles,
It wouldst appear that th' warlord, Xeric Mues, hae issued challenge despite th' fact th' 'is previous challenge unto th' Baron Damien Mortis was on its face improper an' subject to th' penalties prescribed by ta rules 'o engagement.
I shall point out th' previous instance where in th' Warlord, Elijah Basia Uhr's challenge wast set aside after th' duel hae taken place fore in th' 'is bonafides were presented afore th' official lists hae been made public. Madame Silvertree hae in th' instance validated an' improperly issued challenge, an' th' Elder Master Goldendust Evermeadow didst set aside th' duel, turnin' ta matter o'er ta th' Council.
One must ponder how th' warlord, Xeric Mues, who hast claimed he withdrew 'is challenge unto Damien managed to hae a withdrawn challenge validated by Madame Silvertree, ast well ast one must ponder 'ow said warlord hast escaped th' penalty wh' hae been lain unto other warlords for failing to follow th' rules 'o engagement.
I call upon thee, young Master Valentine Evermeadow to make a public announcement and apprise ta community 'o th' particulars.
When I inquired 'o Madame Silvertree, I wast told t'was nae mine business ta know. Since I am a part 'o th' community, tis Madame Silvertree's arrogant pronouncement wouldst appear to be th' none in ta community hae anna right ta know th' particulars. Madame Silvertree hast long declaimed that she need nae answer ta th' community fer 'er deeds, th' ist least she be caught out 'o course.
In this instance ast in past instances, tis 'er pronouncements which flout th' verra fibre, spirit an' intent 'o th' rules 'o engagement ast well ast she seems to hold th' she need nae be 'eld accountable lest she be caught out in her perfidy.
I respectfully request, Master Valentine Evermeadow, that the make ta community fully aware 'o th' particulars an' anna rulings thee may hae made with regard ta both th' matter 'o th' prior challenge by Xeric Mues unto th' Baron Damien Mortis ast well ast th' current challenge lain unto th' Baron Roland Salsinger.

What you "inquired", as I was there, was if she was going to validate Xeric's challenge. It is not anyone's business other than teh standings Keeper, the Baron/Overlord challenged, and the Warlord Challenger to know if she's going to validate the challenge or not until such time as it's publicly announced as being done.
The only one being Arrogant is you by thinking it's your right to have information on every little damned detail that takes place in and around the arena. And it's not. It's not mine, either, it's noone's business but those directly involved.
Common sense would tell you that she's either going to validate it, or invalidate it. Beyond that, it truly isn't anyone's business to know what she's going to do.

::shuckles as he reads the posts about the re-challenge. he is new to the arena but he needed to get involved::
To Gunther:
I, being an underdog in anything tend to run with the other dogs. I put 500 gold on Xeric to win 5-3.
To Salsinger:
I don't know you and do not take any personal offences to me rooting for this Xeric.
To Xeric:
Win, because I have money on this one.
Good Day to you all and I hope to meet you each in the ring when the time comes.

G'nort,
Thee again be defendin' yuir friend, G'nort, ast well ye may. Howe'er, tis now an' t'was when Ah inquired, a valid question in light 'o th' mos' recent incident wi' regard ta th' challenge lain by Xeric Mues unto th' Baron Damien Mortis which wast improperly issued an' void on its face an' yet th' challenge wast declared valid by Madame Silvertree. Were it nae th' ta infermation became public Madame Silvertree wouldst again hae managed ta 'ide 'er
incompetence from ta community.
Were one ta use common sense, G'nort, one must inquire ast ta th' circumstances wh' wouldst lead ta warlord ta issue challenge, in light 'o ta fact th' 'e claims ta hae withdrawn 'is previous challenge; a challenge which Madame Silvertree didst validate.
Tis already been shown th' Madame Silvertree hae some difficulty wi' e'en ta simple task 'o countin' ten different names upon a list 'o bona fides. Tis already been shown th' Madame Silvertree seems ta hae a regular 'abit 'o pronouncin' as valid challenges which aire nae so. Tis also been shown th' Madame Silvertree hast a distinct penchant fer nae makin' public th' pronouncement th' a challenge be either proper or invalid.
Wh' be th' bluidy 'ell be th' wench afeared 'o, G'nort? Shall Ah list a few 'o 'er less th' stellar performances ast Standin's Keeper? Tis it seems one wh' goes by name 'o Alex, hae returned recently ta th' basement an' regained 'is rank, a rank, Ah shall note which ist nae th' 'o a warlord. Tis long been tradition an' custom th' such reinstatement be th' privilege 'o those 'oldin' ta rank 'o warlord.
Th' gentleman clearly stated th' Madame Silvertree hae reinstated 'im. Th' discretion to do so be th' 'o th' Supervisor, G'nort an' nae th' 'o Madame Silvertree. Perhaps Madame Silvertree wast promoted unbeknownst ta th' community? Th' wench hae bluidy well asked 'pon more th' one occasion when wast it th' Ah became ta Supervisor 'o ta sport. Well, Ah bluidy well wouldst now ask th' wench ta same damn question.
When one takes into consideration th' much less th' stellar performance 'o Madame Silvertree in carryin' out 'er duties as Standin's Keeper, G'nort, it bluidy well ist th' business 'o th' community.
