Members of the Community:
Isn't it lovely how Starfare choses to dole out what tidbits of history she deigns to bestow upon people?
For how long has she known of this bit of history concerning the Tenth Overlord, and how many other bits of history does she refuse to part with... thus leaving anyone who searches through the History Center without the knowledge of these things?
I cannot say if Starfare was approached directly, but I do know that Lady Firesinger did indeed make a general request to the public for aid and information in building the History Center.
Many have given their time and shared their memories to be recorded for future generations... and yet, with this simple comment, it is clear that Starfare has not.
Yet, why? For what reason would a person who claims to work for the best interests of the sport refuse to share their knowledge of the sport's treasured past? Why would such a person instead use their knowledge of the history of the sport like a carrot on a stick, to lead people where she wishes them to go?
How can we blame those who are new-come to the Arena and the sport if they choose to emulate those we might despise, if there are only scant few tales of such people as Sierra Redwin, Devion SilverBlade and Vixxenish? Even now, there are only a handful of stories told about the people we are familiar with... like Duke Leto Covington, Baron Jeffery Oakenshield and Adeena Maeax.
How can we blame the newer generations of duelists for not following the traditions, or even knowing them, if there they never hear or read the basis of those traditions?
I learned from my Father at a very early age that our history... whether it be the history of a kingdom, the history of a people or the history of a sport; is the most important gift we can give to those who come after us.
Every day, we are adding our own pieces to the tapestry of life... but they will go unnoticed if we allow them to be squandered or forgotten.
I urge you, each and every one, to remember well the things you have seen and done... and one day soon, impart those things to those around you.

I am singularly unsurprised that you chose to make this a matter between yourself and I, when it is nothing of the sort.
Nowhere in my posting did I say that you should or should not impart to me the knowledge you have of the history of the sport. Yet you seem to ascribe in your egocentric way that I did so.
I see that in your statements you chose to completely overlook the fact that Lady Firesinger is the keeper of the History Center. That it was Lady Firesinger who has asked the community as a whole for their aid in ensuring that the History Center should be filled with knowledge of the past.

By the fact that you were indeed able to tell Lady Firesinger the full name of the Tenth Overlord, presenting the tidbit of information as if it were the most glorious gift in the cosmos and that you should be praised to the heavens for even that little crumb.

As for my part, I have upon many occasions offered my insight and knowledge of the historical events of the sport I have witnessed to Lady Firesinger. On those events where my knowledge was incomplete, I told her of others who might fill in the gaps... mentioning your name serveral times.
Have you done the same?
I am told by some of those who were at the Tourney of the Nine Rings that you were there and that it is likely that you have an excellent record of the events that transpired.
Have you taken it upon yourself to offer this knowledge to the community?
In your selfishness you require people to come to you, begging for what scraps of knowledge you would dole out to them.

This is now completely out of control. Even going by the very broad and terribly inaccurate assumption that either of them was in any way justified regarding their side of the argument when this dispute began, nobody can claim to be in the right anymore.
Drakewyn and Jona have given us all the most masterly exhibition of 'sinking to the level of your antagonist' that I have ever seen. I just hope they can finally stop while it is still educational. If they don't stop, I would strongly suggest that someone start pulling their posts. Both of them.

Oh please... Now people aren't allowed to post, and as some may view it, make fools of themselves?
You may think that the entire argument is stupid, petty, unproductive, whatever. That's not what I'm arguing. What I'm arguing is if Drake and Jona want to lower themselves and let them look like this before everyone, then they have every right to.
Maybe I'm just one of the fortunate people where nobody is holding a dagger to my throat, making me read this. I personally have found it much to my delight that I have the power to refuse to read a post or two, and figure anyone with a morbid enough curiosity about what's being said, can go ahead and read it.
And if some of these are indeed pulled, I suggest that a committee be formed. This committee will be headed by me, of course (I called it first, after all), and this committee shall determine all posts which can and cannot stay, based on what the committee feels is appropriate.
I also suggest we put pink bunnies around this posting area, so everyone knows that we're just a bunch of happy, cheery people who won't let anything bad be posted on the boards.
