"She did it father. She actually did it. Now what?"Eldarion sat in the middle of his bedroom on the floor, indian style. His eyes were closed and he seemed to be asleep, yet meditation also comes to mind. "Pheonix from the ashes.""She said the same thing...what is that supposed to mean?""It means we wait. Shannon has done her part, she did all she could do. Now we see if they heard what she spoke.""And if they do not?""Then ashes to ashes, dust to dust."

Just two of the drones...

Late.A word Eldarion had been well accustomed to recently. He had been held up at his home due to an accident of sorts. He was working on the rotting roof of the cabin when, low and behold, he fell through. After wiping off the dust, grime, and a few termites that had grown too large for comfort, he noticed that the light created from above had grown unpleasantly dark due to a few storm clouds. By the time he got back outside and on the roof, low andbehold, rain started to fall. After twenty minutes of hammering, he had managed to do an incredibly crappy job of covering the ruins. He stored his tools and the ladder, then went in for a quick shower and a change of clothes before making his way out to the duels. After taking thirty minutes to accomplish these two feats (due to a boot he could not find, and turned out to have been lazily tossed under a chair) he threw on his cloak and made his way outside.Luckily, the rain had ceased. Unfortunately, there always has to be a damned dark cloud with every silver lining. Karteran, his friend from Gondor, had taken their horse to, no doubt, Shannon's. So, as they say: it begins with one step. He made the mile or so walk into town. Vacant.Nothin but the rats and roaches scurried around in the Outback. Where the hell was everyone? Damn... after everything that had happened tonight, and makin this freakin walk, turns out not a soul is i-"Hey."Eld turned and saw a familiar figure just relaxing in the silence. Maybe this hadn't been a complete waste afterall." 'ey Bane. Where th' 'ell is everyon'?""The Overlord tourney. No one showed up here cause they were all over there watching, so they closed the Outback down for the night.""Good ta kno' peopl's proirities."It was an unexpected, but not unwelcomed suprise. Eld grabbed a nice, cold ale...one of the few things in this cursed place that could give him some comfort...and took a seat. The two talked for about an hour about everything from the events at the Diamond Quest to some of the events in their own pointless lives. It was a small, but unfrequent event in the Outback that few knew existed anymore. Just grabbing an ale and a seat, and just chillin with someone else...no worries about grabbing the most duels or trying to obtain that higher rank...just chillin and trying to show a sense of intelligence beyond the normal droning that had come to frequent this place. It somewhat comforted Eld to know there was someone else in this place that at least held up the front of having a life beyond the sport. It may have been a small event, but big things do come in small packages.
