Hey, it's nice to see a big steaming pile that doesn't have Jonalyn's name signed at the bottom these days. But, seriously I don't know who you are or what you wrote (because I don't care - I could just smell it from the stairs), but have fun vying for attention. You will, of course, bow to me as I am the number one attention getter here, but perhaps I'll share a bit if you wear a shirt with my picture and "Nova is
my savior" printed on it.
Trust in Nova.

My Dear Mr. G
In regards to your missive posted on my cork I have the following comments if you would be so kind as to indulge me.
As to whether I am an insignificant cog in the process of life as we know it. It is mildly amusing to label me as such then spend three pages responding to me. The irony of life is so sweet is it not?
Your position on using your single initial as your personal banner is a good example of over weaning pride. If it pleases you, then by all means continue to use it I have no serious objection to such posturing.
In regards to my sources both public and private you answered it for me. Why would I inform you of who I have spoke to or heard in discussion? So the jackals could descend on them? I think not. A minor point on this topic is you have no way of knowing who I have spoke to or have overheard. I have been known to buy information from time to time also please keep that in mind.
Your argument that the council was weak is pointless. Indeed for you to attack other Barons as being small-minded indivduals provides only insult to injury. The current Barons council has some good, trustworthy and honorable representatives to be sure. However it has its share of jackals and other predators on the body politic. It would be interesting for you to state which group you consider yourself a part of. Interesting, but not essential.
Avery ruled well. He kept the reins light and was for the most part a gracious and helpful person. Indeed his only failing was his inability to detect the vipers among his associates. The king is dead, long live the king.
There are other threads out there that detail the treachery and the turning of the back on Avery by his "friends". The threads still exist and one only has to research them to determine who these disloyal Barons were.
If you dont mind, I would like to once more state for the record "only historians really care about history". If you examine that statement a bit more closely you may note something worth noting. I will leave it to you to determine what that is.
Jonalyn is my avowed enemy. Why would I waste my time asking her anything as it is highly unlikely she would give me anything other then information tainted by her slanted perspectives. I never said Jonalyn was stupid. Indeed she possesses a cunning and facile mind well able to dupe those who have not seen through the tangled webs she weaves.
Again, whether I enter or do not enter the arena is wholly my decision. Indeed I was in there late last evening listening to the banter. I was pleased to not that Cas was there also.
The point being is that I chose the time of my arrival and will continue to do so. There is little you can do about that other then rant.
I believe one of your associates in a related post on this cork stated you used words like idiot, ignorance, etc. because it is all you know. I would expect that to be incorrect as you appear to have good verbal skills. Perhaps you have become lazy over the years? In any case if you continue to correspond with me I will surely enhance your communication skills if by nothing more then a kind of verbal osmosis. For example here is an excellent,
well-crafted insult you can use that would make you appear to be a man of words. Try calling someone a "subliterate simpleton" that is such a tasty insult don't you agree? Use it on your friends I am sure they will be absolutely delighted.
Finally, you are well aware that the depth of knowledge I have about the ongoings in the community show an excellent comprehension of the state of our world. To pretend otherwise is to do a disservice to yourself.
Your humble servant,
Andrew Pyre

My Dear Nova,
Your self-image does not necessarily correspond with reality. However, I do admire confidence so I bid you welcome to this thread under the assumption you will eventually make a post to it that is worth a more detailed reply.
As to who will save who only time will tell.

Funny, it seems whenever I write anything everyone else knows who wrote it.
Perhaps you should pay attention to my particular stationery instead of looking for a giant scrawled signature at the bottom; my papers make it quite clear who writes on them.
((Absence of signature does not necessarily imply anonymity.))

Mr. Pyre~
You, hypocrite, are no better than Jonalyn and your words are no less refuse than hers.
And, consider yourself warned. If you *dare* call me "my dear" I will have your lower extremities stuffed and sold to the nearest pool hall for cueballs.

Sir Pyre,
Simply out of curiousity, and no offense. What is the point of this thread? Perhaps I fell asleep raking through all the papers, but I really don't see why you just felt you must bag on Jonalyn all of a sudden?
By the way, I hate G, he is the most rediculous person ever to grace these halls, if he never came around everything would be much better off. Now, after this brief paragraph, do you really care about the fact I hate G? Do you think anyone else does? And I don't care that you don't like Jona and that you feel she is the destructor of life as we know it.
Gunthar O'dwyer
P.S. G, yanno I was just using you as an example, I don't really hate you ;D

I enjoy proving why you are such an insignificant cog. It can allow the lesser beings the oppurtunity to know that they are , indeed, better than someone else. That's a rare occurance.
> I have been known to buy information from time to time also please keep that
>in mind.
In "buying" information, it helps to realize that you could also be buying misinformation. For a decent price I'll tell you anything you want to hear, truth or not. Know who you're dealing with. I doubt you do.
> It would be interesting for you to state which group you consider yourself a
>part of.
I'm obviously part of the better crowd. You'd find those who disagree, much like you'd find those who disagree with my statements of the council being weak. However, sicne I've served on several class act and respectable councils in the past, I would say I am a good judge of character. And with that experience, I think it's safe to say that this is and has been the weakest Barons we've ever had. Avery was indeed a good Overlord, but his being
removed only allowed placement for an equally weak counterpart in his place. Fitting considering the current council. Yes, that was another shot. Unlike you, I have the experience, time spent, and actual observing of decent, respectable individuals from past leaders to be able to make such judgements. Unlike others, I have no trouble making statements as to whom I feel are unworthy.
You've no need to tell me to research who the disloyal Barons were. However, I was a Loyal Baron under Avery, and he was my friend. However, and I'm sure Jeffery would disagree and have a cow about this, given the circumstances, I would have voted against Avery retaining the crown of Overlord at that time as well. I would feel regret over making that choice, but if an Overlord is unable to perform his duties, even if held against his will or
whatever is still currently befalling Avery at this time, I would be forced to agree that that person must be removed and replaced with someone who could fill that position. Regrettable, but necessary. Agreed some of the Barons were self-serving, but others did what was necessary. I doubt you could tell the difference between the two.
>If you dont mind, I would like to once more state for the record "only
>historians really care about history". If you examine that statement a bit
>more closely you may note something worth noting. I will leave it to you to
>determine what that is
I determine that it is you stating you don't care about history. That you are yet another ignorant person determined to serve only your own best interests as opposed to either community or the continuing history. Take that as you will, but you'll also likely be gone shortly anyway. Noone will miss you.
I don't deny Jonalyn weaves her own webs, I'm curious though, what makes her your avowed enemy? And you state that the only information she'd give you, if any, would be information tainted by her slanted perspectives. Again, I state, any information she'd give you could easily be researched as to ascertaining whether they were true or not. But then, you're likely too lazy to consider that. Oh, wait, no, you dont care about history.
You refer to Deluthan when he stated that certain insults were all I know. Then you attempt to add wry humor by saying I appeared to have good verbal skills. Indeed I do have good verbal skills, however, it is I who chooses where and when to use them. You, my humble servant, appear to use a dictionary or thesauras when speaking in an attempt to make yourself sound more intelligent with a plethora of nickle and dime words in order to "better my
communication skills." I choose small and simple words because it suits my needs and gets my point across. But if you'd like, I could use better words to describe how I feel about you. "Incompetant. Callow. Commiserable. Moronic. Dullard." Shall I go on? I have no need for you to help my communication skills, they work just fine.
In closing, the only disservice being performed here is to the community by allowing you to poison it with your ramblings. I look forward to the day you decide to move along, for your so called depth of knowledge of the ongoings in the community show not an excellent comprehension into the state of our world, but a stunningly lack of understanding of what this Arena is about.
Do yourself a favor, and contact one of these Historians who are the only ones who care about history, and learn something.

My dear Gunthar,
Your felicitous fabrications are a melancholy attempt at wretched states of patheticness which currently run rampart in these hallowed halls. Your ruse fools me not, as it is increasingly obvious as to your attempts to make yourself appear much more nimble-witted than you contemporarily are.
Please discontinue making yourself blatantly obvious in behavior to the existing assembly of individuals who distantly and closely peruse such sanctified texts upon this cork in order to not lessen their idiocy.
Thank you and good day.
G
P.S. I was joking too, Gunth, Course, I just wanted to prove I could use a ton of cheese words in a single post just because I can. :D

My Dear Unsigned Post,
Perhaps you confuse what is acceptable to you with what is proper for inteligent discourse? In any case unsigned missives are unsigned missives. If you feel you must write on my cork then please follow my request. Specifically, I request that all posts be signed by their author. I will answer unsigned posts if they are sufficiently intriguing or otherwise deserving answer, but one should not count on it.

My Dear Sidartha Elgarette,
My, you are a feisty one. However, having delivered a pointless threat you are in the unenvialbe position of dancing with me. Please do not try and lead, it is so tacky in a lady.
As for comparing me with Jonalyn, I am far better looking.
