The duel for the Sixth Ring, postponed twice, began this day less than one hour from the time I write this post. It was a hard fought duel and swiftly fought on both sides.
Baron Oakenshield, current holder of the Ring, dueled for House Oakenshield. He fought using his trusty axe Chaos. Standing as his Second was Jonalyn Starfare.
The challenger this eve was Grandmaster Daryl Kyle, who stood alone. He fought using the English longsword Crysomer.
Challenge Ring, Round One.
The Baron began with a crafty defence... and the challenger started, perhaps recklessly, with a quick attack. Yet the Baron's axe was angled low, and unable to rise in time to stop the longsword from striking for first blood.
Challenge Ring, Round Two.
The Challenger spins and moves back, but his blade remained ready enough to catch the Baron's axe and prevent the straight assault.
The Score now stood at Two to naught, with the Challenger leading.
Challenge Ring, Round Three.
Undaunted, the Baron continued to attack... Chaos reaching out for blood. But found instead an attack at an equal angle, the two blades meeting only each other.
Challenge Ring, Round Four.
With no more than a breath between rounds, they continued... the Baron backing away from continuing his assault and easily avoiding the challenger's short swing.
The Score now stood at Two to One, the Challenger still leading.
Challenge Ring, Round Five.
Continuing with the rapid pace of the match, the Baron kept up the pace. Chaos moving in a quick arc to block the incoming attack from the Challenger and tie the match.
Challenge Ring, Round Six.
The duel continued apace, neither duelist slowing for more than a moment... the Baron moved from defence to offence and sent Chaos sailing over it's target, for the challenger had dropped below.
The score now stood at Three to Two, the Challenger leading.
Challenge Ring, Round Seven.
Only slightly unbalanced by the missed swing, the Baron continued to press forward. His axe catching the Challenger before he could move away completely.
Challenge Ring, Round Eight.
Perhaps knowing his limits, or perhaps simply thinking ahead, the Baron ceased to press his assault, though not his position... and moved Chaos deftly to intercept the rapid assault from the Challenger once more.
The score now stood at Four to Three, the Baron taking the lead.
Challenge Ring, Round Nine.
The Baron has won many challenges, and perhaps has reason to be cocky... But his cockiness costs him here as his short strike was blocked to tie the match once more.
Challenge Ring, Round Ten.
Perhaps the Baron was tiring by this point, or perhaps he was only conserving his energy... Either way, he failed to fully capitalize on Daryl's own cocky maneuver.
The Score now stood at Four and a half to Four, the Baron leading.
Challenge Ring, Round Eleven.
Keeping back, the Baron stood ready for another assault... Yet no assault was forthcoming, and the score remained the same.
Challenge Ring, Round Twelve.
The Baron, his energy restored, sprang to the fray and to the attack... The Challenger moved to meet this attack with his longsword, yet found himself unable to swing it down in time to block the axe.
Thus, the challenge ended. Baron Oakenshield defends the Sixth Ring by a score of Five and a half to Four in Twelve rounds.

Sounded like a heck of a match. I'm glad to see such an intense duel wasn't prevented from happening because of some trivial matter.
