Ladies and Gentlemen

I was given the honor to officiate the challenge match issued by Warlord Tourney winner Dustin Manjahcapery unto the Overlord Cletus Ganderfald. The match was fought with the best of one format, with the following particulars:

Challenger: Dustin, Warlord
Second: Casey Shiv Blade
Lady of Honor: Sarah Hunter
Banner: Gold star in the center, blue as the lower half, alternating yellow and red stripes shooting from the star to form the upper half ((see Arizona state flag))
Weapon: Bry's T

Challengee: Cletus, Overlord
Second: Magnus Eques
Lady of Honor: Arane Ganderfald
Banner: Polaris banner; Red Star in the middle of a black field
Weapon: Father's Sword, Hralfgar.

Perhaps that large letter is a bit unwieldy at first for Dustin, but the large T manages to catch Cletus trying to step away for a point. 1-0 Dustin.

Dustin seems to have a firm grip on the T now, and he steps aside to show that grace. Cletus, on the other hand, lowers his stance so to avoid the chance of a reversal. 1-0 Dustin.

Cletus maintains his defensive disposition, returning to what cost him a leg last time. Dustin brings the T down low. But it's defensive, and Cletus ties it up. 1-1.

Perhaps that step has picked up some momentum for Cletus, or perhaps it dwindled Dustin's spirits; either way, Cletus scores another quick point by stabbing over the cut with Hralfgar! 2-1 Cletus.

Perhaps feeling he's that much closer to returning home, Cletus takes a defensive position. However, Dustin's direct jab with the T connects with him mid-duck. 2-2.

Cletus regains some footing by bringing Hralfgar up at Dustin's upper torso. Dustin, on the other hand, keeps his momentum by sweeping the T at Cletus' legs just as he did back in round 1. 3-3.

Dustin begins stepping away, but upon seeing Cletus' movement, has second thoughts. He sticks with his decision though, and.... They almost run into each other! 3-3.

Both are being urged to finish the match, and both try to do it in their own way. However, neither are able to take a lead with the shared parries. 3-3.

Dustin remains on the defensive, while Cletus goes after what was guarded before. And, as you can imagine, that blade hurts. 4-3 Cletus.

Somehow having the strength to bring that letter up, Dustin defends laterally and catches the incoming Hralfgar, countering to tie up the match once more. 4-4.

This duel is becoming more painful as it drags on. Not just because of the effort these two have already put forth, but also because they keep trying each other's endurance with traded hits. 5-5.

This is quite a trying time for both combatants, as both have been hit five times, until this round... And to make a long story short. Cletus defends his title. 6-5 Cletus.

FINAL: Cletus wins, 6-5 in 12 rounds.

Well, it is certainly fortunate that calamity was so narrowly averted. It does appear, however, to have been quite an excellent duel. That is something, at least, I am very glad to see. I must say that I am glad to see the results fall the way they have.
