The calling staff of the Duel of Swords would like to congratulate Cassius Gaius Maximius for being awarded this week's "Duelist of the Week".

While over looked on the ballot since his achievement wasn't during normal dueling hours, he won the award through write-in votes.

Cas returned from his brief retirement by stepping in for the Overlord against G. Cas took the win 6-5 in 11 rounds. Cas then met the challenger, denying Xeric the chance to face off with the Overlord by a score of 5-2 in 7 rounds.

Cas pressed his right to challenge Xeric and the two decided to settle the matter immediately. Xeric, perhaps hoping that the former baron was beginning to tire, choose the best of three format. Xeric began the match but it was his second, Face, who finished the challenge.

Only two matches of the three were needed for Cas to win the right to become Baron of the Eighth. Cas fought a total of 33 rounds in four duels against four men and outscored his opponents a total of 21-12.

Also nominated this week was Stephen Barbarossa and former Duelist of the week, Drachen, who returned to the Arena after a several weeks absence.

In recognition for his outstanding and historic dueling, Cas's drinks for the upcoming week will be on the house. Congratulations, Cas!
