I've remained silent so far because I
figured that anything I say has already been said and will probably be said again. I've also been trying to take Nova's advice (if you haven't read his post, ALL of you should it's quite enlightening). But, I need to say something before I sit back and let all of you rip into each other again..I'm Renegade to Seamus..first it was because of 2 reasons. One, the way he acted during his failed challenge to me. He blamed me because he used an invalid
peer win and I pointed it out before he could have been punished for it. However, that past has been buried. The second reason was the way he acted at his own challenge to Cletus. Now, I'm Renegade for two more reasons..One, the way he's acting now (which is much like the way he acted in his challenge to me) complaining about this, that and the other, I don't think he should be acting like this at all if he is the Overlord, he never did before. And
Two, the constant Testing..he has yet to meet a challenger that he has actually fought again without his test failing. MacDonnaugh, you are the Overlord....I know you'll probably start complaining about this post in and of itself, but that's irrelevant. Look at how you've been acting since you've gained the Title..is this how you want to be remembered? I certainly wouldn't want to be remembered in that way..and if I am, well then my life within the
Arena walls has been in vain. Stop with the whining and complaining and start DOING the things you claimed that you were going to do. Challenges don't stop you. Also, start fighting your own battles..some challengers should be Tested, yes..but I believe that Rix goes above and beyond the criterion of someone who deserves the mantle (although, that has degraded a bit lately as well), give him the respect of facing you "The Supreme Dueler" face to
face in a ring. And if you don't....well, I shall be there to make sure that you do, if someone else (and I'm sure they will) does not.

My opinion is fairly simple. It covers several points.
1.) Despite the whining by Arane and Cletus, Seamus's contact at his challenge to Cletus was far superior to that of the Ganderfald's. He offered fair challenge and whether or not he chose to drink between the first and second duel and during the latter two duels, his behavior was still superior to that of the Ganderfald family. It was Cletus who chose to spit into the ring and comment on whether or not Seamus was a drunk after he had lost the
match and neither during nor before. It was Cletus who was whining about leaving RhyDin after his defeat and Arane who has been behaving in a fashion reminiscent of Jonalyn ever since. If their conduct is to be judged as 'noble' or 'sportsmanlike', then Seamus should be complimented by the comments made about his own behavior.
2.) The testing of the Baron Xeric and the Baron claiming to be Drey Starke was entirely justified, even in my own opinion. The alleged Lord Starke's choice of a champion revealed a great deal about both him and the Troyan lad, as both sought their natural level. Either the alleged Drey Starke or Xeric Mues would have been far poorer than Seamus as Overlord, as both have shown repeatedly.
3.) I do not believe that Rix should be tested, no, and I admit that I would be disappointed in the Overlord if he chose to do so. However, I am equally disappointed by Rix's vocal disapproval of Seamus's conduct yet his unwillingness to call others on their own. Seamus's own behavior has not been blameless, but it has been quite a sight better than that of his opposition thus far.
Frankly, I think Rix is the first challenger thus far who deserves a shot. I think he should be given that shot. If he wins, I think he would be a worthy Overlord. However, Seamus is also quite a worthy Overlord. When taking into account cricticism of his reign it is important to consider the choice. While I have a great deal of respect for Rix and love Daelin like a brother, I would not consider the unsportsmanlike and meanspirited barbs cast by
the man Seamus defeated and his wife as worthy of my notice. Frankly, they should be ignored. Especially by Seamus.

I cannot judge the situation of the challenge match, as I was unable to attend. However, it would not surprise me if the Ganderfalds did indeed behave like this.

I don't know why the hell you felt the need to drag me into this, so I'll just speak my peace and then leave the bickering and the politics to the rest of you who seem to whine and moan so well.
Since you wanted the "truth," for whatever reason, here it is. I contacted you first, since I thought it would be more entertaining for me to be your champion. I'd get to fight a maximum of 3 matches instead of a paltry one. Plus that way the chances of me getting a ring relied entirely on my skill, not on the likelihood that somebody else (in this case Drey) would defeat the Overlord (in this case you).
You turned me down in favor of Jake. That's cool. Jake's a tough one. But don't whine and complain when I turned and offered my services to Drey instead. I have no problems admitting that both of my offers were self-serving. I don't give a rats behind which one of you is Overlord, because (and here's your wake-up call) it doesn't matter. This is a freaking fighting sport. If you're the top dog, you receive challenge and defend your title. Anything
else is window dressing and a load of bull honky.
As for the whole situation about my reinstatement, feel free to question the validity of it with respect to the rules. There's nothing concrete to support your case, and I have precedent, having done the exact same thing before as well as being on the opposite side when Billy Boy did it awhile back. Besides, it's all said and done and you retained your title anyway. What the hell do you care? Unless of course your goal is to irrelevantly drag me
through the mud, forgetting that 1) your and most everybody else's opinions don't matter to me, and 2) that anybody who will be influenced by your words already doesn't like me to begin with.
Have a nice day Overwhiner. Maybe next time you'll be smarter and big the better fighter to represent you so you won't have to complain about it after the fact.

You don't know me from Jack, but I've been around a while, watching from the sidelines so to speak, and I think you're a cool dude. Right up there with ol' Var-ment and Mister G-ster, which puts you pretty high up in my book. (Of course, some folks say I'm naive, so you'll have to take that ranking with a grain of salt.)
I think you should feel complimented at receiving all of these challenges. And I think it's totally up to you, given your position, as to whether you test a challenger's worthiness or not. You do what you think is right, and don't let your detractors con you into foregoing the rights that come with the Overlordship.
You certainly have stirred things up around the Arena from the boredom of several months ago. That's a good thing from my point of view. And you seem to have succeeded in bringing interest back for many of the "older" duelers. At least they seem to be hanging out more around the Arena. And I appreciate that I see you around the rings and taking part in things a lot more than most of the folks who have been bad-mouthing you.
I hope to see you continue to reign as the Supreme Dueler for a long while to come. And, hey, I don't know what I might do to help you out, but if anything comes up and ya need an extra hand, just let me know.

Overlord MacDonnaugh ---
You don't know me from Jack, but I've been around a while, watching from the sidelines so to speak, and I think you're a cool dude. Right up there with ol' Var-ment and Mister G-ster, which puts you pretty high up in my book. (Of course, some folks say I'm naive, so you'll have to take that ranking with a grain of salt.)
I think you should feel complimented at receiving all of these challenges. And I think it's totally up to you, given your position, as to whether you test a challenger's worthiness or not. You do what you think is right, and don't let your detractors con you into foregoing the rights that come with the Overlordship.
You certainly have stirred things up around the Arena from the boredom of several months ago. That's a good thing from my point of view. And you seem to have succeeded in bringing interest back for many of the "older" duelers. At least they seem to be hanging out more around the Arena. And I appreciate that I see you around the rings and taking part in things a lot more than most of the folks who have been bad-mouthing you.
I hope to see you continue to reign as the Supreme Dueler for a long while to come. And, hey, I don't know what I might do to help you out, but if anything comes up and ya need an extra hand, just let me know.

So, you think the Overlord is justified in sinking to the level of others? If anything, he has sunk below the levels, and that does not set a positive example to the newcomers, and unfortunately, many newcomers do look up to the Overlord position.
This Overlord indeed does something for the community, but it is not as good as he likes to promote it.

I've certainly been more blunt recently than in the past, where I sought to appease everyone and be the golden boy I was assumed to be. I will not apologize for my words, though. I will own up to what I've said and accept the consequences from them. I'm big enough to acknowledge when I've acted dumb. I say what I mean. I have never acted against my own words.
You want to call me a liar? That's fine with me. All it does is turn this personal. I'm not seeking your approval or trying to be your buddy. I'm trying to take the mantle you've got. The mantle you're abusing.
My own challenge was certainly not filled with malice of any sort. I stated my intentions, and I stated why. It's as much as I've done in every other challenge, no more no less. It was very cordial. But twist it around any way you wish, call me a liar all you wish.
If I have my way, this will be the last test you ever have the chance to use and abuse.

If what I say should be ignored, then why do you continue to comment about it? I would call you a hypocrite, but I know you can't be held accountable for your hypocrisy, since you have had more strokes than I have teeth, and they do tend to do damage to the brain. Plus you're still under the illusion that your opinion is important to somebody other than yourself. That's a pity.
Nobody is important. Nobody means anything around here. Just shut up and fight. That's the only reason to hold a title here anymore.
