I thought it was disrespecful to issue a challenge when someone else has already speified "intent" well I don't know. Ask Strallen

Sprite is right in this case. I have issued my own Challenge, and based on my becoming aware of Sartan's, stated my willingness to sit in que, that my Challenge go through should Sartan lose. Should he win though, I will issue another Challenge, this time with his name stated as the one Challenged.
For the disrespect he showed in disregarding my Intent and challenging anyways, that alone would be enough for me to offer him Challenge instead, should he win.
But I consider the fact that he deigned to inform the entire public of his Challenge immediately after making it, but wasn't even willing to make copies of his missive to send to the Council as well, to be another disrespect, this one to the Council itself. That is simply the icing on the proverbial cake. So if Sartan does win, he should be prepared.

It should be noted that there was no formal statement of Intent of Challenge from Strallen placed anywhere for us to see.
Simply saying that you're going to challenge isn't a formal declaraction of attempt.
So, since Strallen has not documented his Intent to Challenge, there was no intent, And therefore, noone can say any disrespect of any sort has happened.
As to the rest of this, even if there were an Intent posted, noone is under any obligation to honor that said intent. An intent of challenge is not a rule.
Thus endeth the lesson.
I strongly recommend you people get off your lazy butts and read the rules. I'm getting a little irritated at you uneducated masses thinking you can rely on what you've either heard about, or read about on these boards. I'm a little irritated that people are too lazy to think these things through, then want to whine about some supposed wrong that was done to them.
Lemme give you a quick recap.
Warlord has Peer Wins, Warlord can challenge anyone, unless there's already an official challenge in place.
Intending to Challenges means Nothing. Get over it.
Challenges that are withdrawn mean you don't get penalized.
You are Only required to send your challenge and list of peer wins to the person you are challenging, and the Standings Keeper.
Of course, you would all know this if you read the rules.
But then, I'm the one who has to be the Intelligent one, aren't I?
By the way, I have a ring. Can't deal with the fact I'm calling most of you stupid, lazy idiots, come and take it from me.

I've been waiting to Challenge for several weeks now. Would it have given me any more right to this challenge had I announced it then?
As to my disprespecting the Council, you stated it yourself, Strallen: I informed the entire community after I issued my challenge. To be completely honest, the fact that I don't know several of the Barons had me wondering how I would even be able to contact them. If you on the Council find me telling the community as a whole disrespectful, I guess I apologize? I assumed members of the Council perused the board too.
Oh, Strallen, you might want to look through the rules and rethink your strategy. If memory serves, if you enter in a queue to challenge Ralez and I'm victorious, your right to challenge for the cycle is taken away.
Finally, if I do manage to defeat Ralez, I'm not going after the crown to sit on it. Challengers are more than welcome to start arguing about intent and the such now in case I do win.

Intent means nothing. Drake stated her intent to challenge me for her own reasons. Before she could issue challenge though, Lupton issued his.
There was no outcry at that time that Drake's intent to challenge was overlooked. My issue was how Lupton handled the challenge.
The point is, don't think that by stating your intent to challenge that anyone will stand idle for you. I would have liked to have been informed by Sartan just for the sake of cordiality, but this is the kind of fight not worth picking. I've actually learned to pick those now.
A couple side notes... Sartan is right that in a challenge que, you challenge the person, not the title. If the person is removed and someone is in the que, they lose their right to challenge for that cycle. Another note, I believe there are no "ques" for the Overlord challenge. The only exception came when the Warlord tourney winner (I believe it was Eric Siadek) was placed in que when Adonai exercised his right to challenge Overlord Marzan
for banishing him to Renegade.

Gnort, nobody has said Sartan violated the rules, so get off your high horse and stop trying to bring up something that isn't even being argued. I never said that my Intent gave me the right to challenge first under the rules, did I? If THAT were true, Sar wouldn't have even been able to challenge in the first place. Think before you speak. I simply stated that since I
did state Intent, it was disrespectful of Sar to disregard that and challenge anyway, not that it was against any rule.
Concerning whether or not a Challenger has to notify the Council or not. That arguement was already discussed between yourself and I among letters that the Council has been privy to. And since I already stated there that I knew quite well that there was no rule stating that the Council must be informed, but that I felt it was disrespectful to the Council that he state the challenge clearly to the public without having sent us copies as
well; and you then agreed that we must just have a difference of opinion... You look rather foolish for bringing up again here what has already been settled.
As to whether or not I formally stated Intent "where everyone could see". First, I stated it the moment the challenge ended, but since it was late at night, and I was a bit tired, I didn't feel like taking the time to write up a note and tacking it to the board. I intended to do it the next day but discovered that when that day came around, upon looking at the boards, someone ELSE had already mentioned my statement of Intent, making it clear to
the public what I'd already done for me. Because of that, I didn't feel it was needed to formally set up a whole new row of tacks stating my Intent, because the community had already been informed of my statement.
Sar, actually you're wrong. According to the letter of the rules as stated, there cannot BE Ques for Challenges to the Overlord. I didn't mean to say one should be started. What I meant when I said I would be willing to wait in que was that I would be willing to wait until after your Challenge was completed before my Challenge was processed.
By the letter of the rules as stated, since you did manage to offer Challenge first, your challenge would take precedence and I would need to issue Challenge again after yours is completed. So instead of the waste of paper and time that would take for all parties, I was implying that it might be better if my Challenge could simply be held until after yours is complete, and then processed at that time. Though I would of course not be at odds with
writing out another set of letters for the Challenge, were it to prove necessary.

Strallen,
Read what I wrote carefully. Do you see how a majority of what I wrote didn't pertain to you?
Don't assume I was singling you out. I'm talking to the entire community.
As to things we discussed in missives, I restated them here so there is no further confusion over the matter for the rest of the masses, not that I expect them to notice or remember these things.
I'm not on a high horse, I simply want people to go look at the rules themselves so they know how to do things like challenge properly.
Shoo fly, don't bother me.

Your Intent means absolutely nothing, Strallen, as has been noted.
Besides, you shouldn't be challenging for the crown anyhow.
