NEWS AND VIEWS by Eli Grady

Well folks, I have been back in town just a few short hours and already I have been welcomed back in the usual rousing RhyDin manner. Take a read of some of the following missives framed in the quaint manly fashion most warriors have of welcoming one of their favorites back.

From: Xerzes M
Die.
From: GnrtDrgoon
Here we go again.
From: Xericmues
Well it's good to hear that your back.
From: XHavoickX Quoting Xerzes, and I think he said it best. “Die.”

Such an outpouring of sentiment, nearly brings a tear to the eye of this reporter. I am so glad to be back guys. I will endeavor to continue presenting the finest in news until I am sent back to the front.

NEWS FROM THE WARS - by Eli Grady. I have never seen such cutting, stabbing, hacking, chopping and other manifestations of the manly art of war then in the RhyDin Alteverse. Count them folks, there are no less than three major wars, five insurrections, one revolution, and some basic riots. It seems that the Eagle Clan stole the Bear Clans totem which caused a bunch of alignments and realignments resulting in massive amounts of bloodshed,
displacement of civilian population, and wide-spread devestation. All over a stuff owl. Such things dreams are made of. As for who is winning? Who knows? Eventually someone will and life as we know it will teeter along again

RhYDin Guard Reports

The infamous Shadow gang has struck again. The 23d Mecantile Bank on the corner of Hogford and Bullock was robbed by a team of brigands who were aided and abetted by a sorcerer. Eye-witnesses says a woman in chainmail and leather (very little of each) distracted the guards with an impromptu readjusting of her armor. While the guard was entranced several accomplices entered the bank and made off with the days receipts. The Sorcerer, as in the
past laid a confusion of paths spell and under that particular weave the robbers made their escape. The guards were able to provide a good description of the ummmm...protrusions the female accomplice was blessed with, but beyond that they recalled nothing. Rewards in the amount of 400 Guild Gold coins has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction ot the miscreants.

The Guard NightShift reports details they were called out to the turtle stautary and reflecting pond last night to remove several prominent citizens who were in various stages of nakedness and quite under the influence. Hizzoner the City Beadle was taken to the Sisters of Sweet Surrender clinic to be treated for turtle bites of a private nature

EDITORIAL by Sylyim Fondor

It is a shame and disgrace to this fair city that we the citizens have to put up with the apparently unending string of deaths and rebirths of various citizenry. It is a drain on the resources of the city to bury someone properly and for the person to resurrect themselves leaving gaping holes in the ground. If you don’t like what the afterlife has to offer don’t die. These people are making undertakers rich and a mockery of death. We ask that
if your going to step forward and do away with yourself please do it and then stay decently dead.

No, it's not. It's a waste of space.

>So, who is this XHavoickX and how do you pronounce that?

He is an Alpacan from Alpan. The funny thing about talking in Alpanese, is normal linguistics do not apply.

However something appears, is how it sounds.

So, XHavoickX is pronounced "Bob"

GnrtDrgoon, oddly enough, is also pronounced "Bob"

Alpan's ways of translation make everything simple. Basically, if you cannot understand it, it's pronounced "Bob"

Hope that helps, Sid!

Was I the only one who noticed that there was absolutely nothing about the duels in there?

Cas,

As yet the Times-Reporter does not have a reliable source for information on duels and goings-on in the Duel of Swords.

I do not wish to parrot the standings and am looking for insights into the world of DoS. A member of the community contacted me privately and laid out some constructive criticism which I will address.

However, the bottom line is that the DoS and all the things that go on in it are important. So, if you, or anyone else in the community has an idea for an article, some news to report, etc., please send it to me.

By the way, the Times-Reporter will be published monthly, generally near the end of the month. So, the next edition should hit the streets in the last week of the first month of the new year.

Cordially,

Eli Grady
