Peer Wins:-------------------------"Peer Wins" are retroactive to the last time you challenged a Baron or the Overlord. Once a challenge is met, either against the Overlord or a Baron, the challenging Warlord's "Peer Wins" is reset to zero. Baron's and the Overlord do NOT accumulate "Peer Wins" while holding title and start out with zero when unseated to the Warlord rank.>>>The same is true of Warlords who lose their Rank of Warlord and then reenter the rank. Their "Peer Wins" is reset to zero.<<<<If you lose your rank of Warlord, you lose your Peer wins, thus QuickVar's list of peer winsare lost and void along with his challenge. There have been two cases where a challenge continued despite of a rank loss; 1-Ulath won the Warlord's Tourney and the loss of rank had no bearing, for the challenge required no peer wins. 2- Marzan has lost his Warlord rank, but again, as the Tourney winner, he does not need peer wins for the challenge; though were I him I would suspect a line of once loyal Barons to come knocking for the crown if he is victorious. ::left unsigned and unstamped::

In this case, the peer wins were already submitted and the challenge accepted. Now, since a Warlord cannot gain peer wins until after the challenge is met and are essentially kept at zero, what difference does it make if the rank is lost? The challenge, I think, is still valid.

The time the challenge was made and accepted, Var was a Warlord. Does this mean all his peer wins submitted and confirmed before the loss in rank are invalid?

I believe there should be some clarification in this matter.

Var~Whether or not your challenge should have been rescinded, you shouldn't retire because of your WoL record. It just means, like all of us, that you have slumps too. Next time somebody says that, tell them to stick it where the sun don't shine.Your friend in the ring,

::Considers everything she knows has been said on this subject and everything she believes in, then pens a quick note under Jeff's.:: Jeff, Lupton was the one who told Var to retire... Maybe I shouldn't post this, but I feel that his rude manner in saying it should be pointed out and decried. Sorry Sid, but your husband can be a true gentleman at times, yet at other times be a terribly cruel and rude man.

::walks to the boards and tacks up a simple note::

Due ta da circumstances at hand, I believe if Var wants his shot he should get it. Period. If Seamus wishes ta await da outcome, I believe dat choice should also be held up. You can say its about rank, and its about rules, but don't forget its also about givin' one of DoS' most devoted patrons his shot at glory, let da duels decide if he shall have it.

T'has been said that tha mark of a True Swordsman is not how many times he walketh away victorious, but t'is how many times he rises above defeat.
How he learns, how he adapts, how he perserves through t'all.

Would it not be better ta show this obxoxious, disrespectful fool who spoke those words, there be more ta concern one'self then winning or losing?
Would it not be better ta show him yer strength of Heart, and of Character?
Show him ya might not always make it yer first time through, but show the Warrior spirit that lives within ya, that sayeth; I'll be back again, and again, and yet again if I have ta, ta aquire tha goal of holding the ring ya so desire?

Worry yerself not, me friend, fer dueling in itself is much more than aquiring rankings, and victories....t'is bout the allies we make, the enjoyment we get from the sport.
And, many can see that even though ya have gone 0-11, fer one weekend, absolutely no one can take away the epitome of a dueler that you so humbly display.
As one has pointed out, ya call fer the newcomers, ya have only kind words ta speak ta me, and many others.
Ya have something that'tis lacking in most, and no matter whether ya should ever hold a baronial ring or not, ya can always say, proudly, ya duel with Honour.
Never lose sight of that.

This was yer first time up the mountain, Sir Var.
Me only knows ya'll try again.

::Raises a brow, and shows a tilting grin::
Ya must, ta set an example fer yer son.

::draws LongSword of Truth, and offers a salute::

Respectfully,
Milites Christi
Translates ~ Knight of CHRIST"

And, perhaps knowing that I myself, in the first week I held me Warlord's ranking, went 0-10 the week following, might not make ya feel all that bad. But, know, ya'll see me up there once more one day.
Fer, we should never be counting out, ::grins:: Right sir Var?

To All, There appears to be a lot of confusion concerning the challenge, it even dwells deeper with the addition of another challenge on its heels. There also appears another question, Var may have mistakenly nae sent his list of peer wins to Golden. I am currently awaiting a ruling by the official before proceding with either challenge. Until All is Clear, Daegarth Mithmellon

Drake~I've given up trying to right the wrongs on this board. I grow tired of being laughed at for doing so. Maybe the Arena should be the best way.

Sid, I, for one, have never laughed at you. I may have thought you were wrong at times, but unless someone does or says something that is obviously laughable, I always take them seriously. Your husband said something that was spiteful and malicious, and this is not the first time he has done such. Until he appologizes, I cannot forgive. I'm sorry if you believe that words cannot sway people, but I shall never give up that hope.
