The Fall and Rise of A Legend Part OneWarning!!!Warning!!!Warning!!!This is a story told to me by my master, D13thCain. It is a graphic tale of the fall and rise of a great and powerful legend. Though this story may seem a bit far-fetched, I have molded with his thoughts and have seen this tale to be true. For those who do not wish to see the name of a great legend tarnished in any way, please refrain from reading this tale. Once again, this is a story told to me by my master,D13thCain. ~~~The Story Teller~~~ My servant, my partner, my friend - this day, you have questioned the lenghths and limits of my power. I do not know how I can show this to you. Actually, I have a tale of mine to tell that may begin to give you an idea. On the fields of Rhydin, in the land of Morgoth, I was sent to find a man, a Savior, of which I have spoke of in the past. As I began to drive forward on my noble steed, I saw before me brilliant lights beyond the hillside. As I pressed my horse onto a gallop, I reached the peak of the hill, I saw a village in the distance, burning to the ground. The ashes of the once erect village hall clouded the sky. I began my descent to the village whena single man came into my vision. I approached the man with a keen eye. The man came rushing towards me and I put my hand to my side in preparation for a confrontation. "Please help us!!!" he cried. Blood dripped heavily from his forehead down to his eyes. "What has happened here?" I inquired of him. "A wizard has destroyed our village. By the gods, it's all gone, I can't believe this!!" The man was shivering with fear, his eyes shown this as well. I asked the man, "May I speak with the leader of your village?". He nodded with no energy within him to form his lips into words. "Take me to him", I demanded, " this injustice shall not go without recourse". The man took a step forward and motioned me to follow. My thoughts fell distant as I visioned the man a was to seek out. "Could this man be him?" I asked myself. "It could be anyone I encounter." My concentration on this was broken as the man said to me, "follow me". The man led me to the village, I was amazed to see the villagers had already begun repairs. I was finally brought to a large charred hut in the center of the village. "Please enter." the man offered. I entered a tattered cloth door sealing a charr-encased shell of a hut. The first thing I noticed as I entered was the enormity of the guards posted directly within. They were large men, barbarians from what I gathered, much larger than any I had ever seen. Beyond the guards was a man sitting slouched over. He wore the royal color purple and bore a bright gold medallion around his neck. As I entered, he rose immediately, his eyes meetingmine. "Are you here from Trydia?" he asked with an excited tone. "No," I answered, "I am but a nomad traveling these lands. I have seen the pain and suffering you and your people have endured. Why has this mage done this to you?" "We do not know, nomad. All we know is that he used to be a highly trusted man of great valor, a man of white magics. But sadly, he has of lately turned to the side of darkness. No one in this village knows the cause of this sudden change. I have sent for a search party from Trydia to accompany us on our journey to confront this mage. Many people seek answers, as I do. Surely, if you are interested in this, we need talented warriors to come. You are welcome to join us if ye wish it." With a rush of adrenaline filling my veins, I answered, "Sir, I would be honored to accompany you and your men on this quest." He smiled and rose to his feet and offered his hand to me. "Very good, my friend," he said, "My name is Sagan, chief of Frasal." "My name is Marcus." "Well then, Marcus, you shall stay with me this night until the light of day begins our journey together, your room is there beyond the fire and to the right. Get some rest for the road ahead is long and cumbersome. I shall see thee in the morn, good night, Marcus." I nodded to him and Sagan turned back to his seat. I turned towards the fire and headed towards my room. Before me was a room no bigger than a large closet with room only for a small bed. I layed my weapons beneath the bed and laid down. It took me but a few moments to close my eyes and I fell into a deep sleep. Sagan's eagerness to find this mage was made very apparent as he woke me at 4:30 in the morning. To my pleasure, I opened my eyes to the sight of a beautiful woman setting a plate of food before me. "Eat, my friend, for thou have a long road ahead of thee," she said. I smiled and took a drink from the goblet she had brought me. "Thank you, my lady." her eyes met mine in a silent gesture of affection. She brushed her hair back, revealing elegant, elven ears. "Please, call me Fraya." My friend, I tell you this day, I do not know why, but for the first time in my life, I had been left speechless. She was so beautiful to my eyes. (I have left a portion of this story out where my master continues explaining the beauty of this woman) Sagan entered the room and asked if I was ready. When I had finished my meal, Imet Sagan along with six others gathered outside the doors of the hut." "Good morn, Marcus. We are ready. Will you still be joining us?" "Of course," I answered. Sagan introduced me to the others, there were four tribal warriors, a healer and a mage from Trydia. There were also mighty steeds brought to us, nine in all. "Is there another to join us?" "Oh, yes," he replied, "here he she is." I turned to see Fraya approaching in leather armor armed with sword and spear. I smiled as she came close and she returned the compliment. I turned as Sagan spoke. "Let's go!" We all mounted our horses and began to gallop out of the village. "Wait! Wait!" I turned to see the middle-aged man I had met before, he was running to catch up with me. "What did you need my friend?" "My name is Narus. Please, sir take this with you, it was the mage's before he turned to evil." The man took a small blue orb out of his pocket and lifted it to offer me. "What is it?" I asked as I held it in my hand. "It is a light orb, it has many uses, but can only be used as a light source to we normal kin. Take it, maybe ye will find other uses for it." he smiled happily at me. "Thank you." I placed the orb in my pocket and turned my steed, heading for the others. I looked to the hills ahead and wondered what dangers were ahead of me. I thought of all my past experiences in battle, but felt uneasy with this journey for some reason. I learned later what that uneasyness was for. As we rode into the hillside, I turned my head to see the people of Frasal waving, wishing their heroesthe best of luck. Little did they know, only a few would return........ XxXMarcus CainXxXPart two of this saga shall be released some time in the near future.~~The Story Teller~~~
