Hear ye...Hear ye....Overlord Challenge Results

The night was calm, but the Arena was hopping! They came, they saw, they enjoyed.... It was a Best of Three and three it took. There were foam fingers waving and ladies spouting unladylike cheers as Dal and Tical took to the ring.
Overlord Dalamar Ar'Daumon, Lord of the Dale and Master of the House of Stone, dueled under the silver and black of the Oldest House. Standing at his side as Second, was the bearer of the Fifth Baronial Ring, Loyal Baron Sartan. Lord Ar'Daumon dueled for the honor of Lady Elle Raven McBride, a well
established duelist in her own right and Warlady of DoS.
The challenger this evening, Warlord Ticallion "Tical" M. Carter, was dueling for everyone back in his hometown of Brooklyn, NY. Warlord Carter had informed me that he would be dueling without a Second at his side, but at the last moment Chris Graziano stepped in as his Second. Warlord Carter dueled for the Honor of his Lady and girlfriend, Lady Akasha Annabella Adair, who I mistook as a Warlady of DoS. As I stood corrected, thanks to Xerzes; the
Swordswoman, Kaja, as she is called, took to Tical 's side of the ring.
All attention turned to the Ring of Honor Dal and Tical trading blows on their first encounter. A step around a thrust and a collision of blades lead us to the sudden halt of another thrusting attack by Tical in the fourth round as Dal took the lead 3-1. By the eighth round Dal maintained his 2 point lead parrying away a high cut by Tical. The ninth round found the winner of the first match as Dal parried low to deflect the cut by Tical.

Match 1 of 3: Ring of Honor: Dal defs. Tical, 5-2 in 9 rounds to take a 1 match to none lead in the Best of Three series.

Without delay the duelers delved into the second duel striking blades high as metal met metal. Tical scored the first blow this duel in the second round by deftly side stepping a fine low parry. A few parries later and Dal had things tied at 2 all by the fifth round. In a what would be a see-saw bout from this point on by the tenth round Tical and Dal stood tied at 4 points each. It would be Tical's duel from here on out as he gained 2 points by
round 13 to defeat Dal 6-5, sidestepping the slashing blade of the Overlord.

Match 2-3: Ring of Honor: Tical defs. Dal, 6-5 in 13 rounds to even the series 1 match apiece.

The final match was delayed as the Warlord requested a break allowing this caller to wet her whistle for what would be the shortest duel of the evening. Dal took the first point as his low defense staved off the cutting attack by Tical in round one. The next two rounds would go to Tical with some fine defensive moves, forcing Dal to pick up the pace. And pick up the pace he did as he came back from a 2-2 tie in the fourth round to take the lead
4-3 by the 6th round in a high/low exchange. The winning blow came by the eight round as Dal turned a fine, high flying parry that denied the thrusting blade of Tical. Dal retained his title as the 48th Overlord of DoS, 2 matches out of 3!

Match 3 of 3: Ring of Honor: Dal defs. Tical, 5-3 in 8 rounds.

Winnner: Dalamar Ar'Daumon, 48th Overlord of the Duel of Swords
Excellent dueling Dal and Tical!

My thanks to the duelers and everyone that attended the Challenge!
