Regarding RDI Alais/Harassment

Heretofore, and in light of recent events involving the questioning of a callers integrity, a decision must be made to deal with those actions which have no place in the Duel of Swords, namely harassment and slander. These actions must be dealt in as severe a manner as possible. The duelers Zaradda and Kayne Rune here hereby suspended by the Coordinator of the Duel of Swords in accordance with the posted DoSPolicies, effective immediately and until the end of the next dueling cycle, that being on or about January 31, 1998. Until this date these duelers, Zaradda and Kayne Rune, are not allowed to duel or hold rank in the Duel of Swords. After this time, they will be allowed to return to the Duel of Swords as duelers, however they will revert to the rank of commoner. As the Coordinator of this sport, I jealously defend the actions of those callers who work so hard to make the Duel of Swords what it is. Let it be known that the reprehensible actions of these two do not reflect the Duel of Swords in any way and this office will not tolerate any future harassment or slander or libel of the officials of this sport. At this point I would request a public apology to RDI Alais, although it will not alleviate the punishment for unsportsman like conduct with in the confines of any Duel of Swords sanctioned events. This decision has been ratified by RDI Mimi as Forum Assistant, and RDI Mgr as Forum Supervisor.~HelixDuel of Swords Coordinator

He grins as he reads Helix's posted message, and tacks up a response under it.

Very well said Helix! I think thou hast reacted superbly to the situation. I hope all others take the lesson seriously, and Rad and Kayne learn from their mistakes. I completely agree with every word.

How cute. Flamed for the opinions of myself? Losing my rank because of such? Why not take away the right of free speech, while you're at it? As if I actually believed the conspiracy! I'm sickened by the response to this that I have gotten. I'm being blamed for the sake of blame; being hated for the sake of hate. This mob mentality has no place in this incident. Can anyone think for themselves, for a change? Put themselves in another's shoes? I suppose not, from the "kind" response I've gotten from everybody. Has anyone taken the time to think of my integrity? Of my perspective? No, because considering slight justification of my actions would ruin my scape-goat image. And as for all of you standing by and watching this happen, that is more sick than anything I have ever done. Nobody, nobody, has the right to judge my actions. There is a thin line betweem hypocrisy and justice, when dealt from the hands of the so-called "judge". Justice is blind, is it not? But I suppose that doesn't apply here, considering the sort of "Holier than thou" attitude I've received from nearly everybody. Let he who is free from sin cast the first stone.Kayne Rune,Soon-to-be commoner of this "sport".((That was IC, guys.. any OOC qualms about anything should be directed to me personally, like these.. ::makes a broad gesture over the mounds of hate-mail, death-threats, and all-around "goodwilled" letters::))

Yeah sure Kayne whine about it. If you and Rad would treat some people with just a hint of dignity and respect, none of this would have happened. But, I suppose your planning to continue to beleive you have done nothing right? Grow up a tad and learn some manners! Huma

One thing I forgot to write. Of course I'm sorry. It may be hard to see that, but I am. I had no intention of hurting Alais' feelings, or even annoying her in the least---well, maybe annoy her just a little bit---but that's irrelevant. I hope you can find it in yourselves to forgive me in at least a slight manner; or, in other terms, somewhat let this boil over. I suppose this ban will let the fires die down, but I know that the ashes will always remain. I'm not asking to be treated like the Virgin Mary herself; rather, better than Satan---who has recently been identified as my "associate", from someone whose name I will constrain myself from mentioning. Hopefully you can understand my feelings on this; trust me, whatever I dealt out I received ten-fold back, purely in spite.Kayne Rune.

::Smirks and writes to Kayne, and to Rad as well:: Kayne, You say "what about my integrity" I believe. I want to ask you this... How much integrity do you have when you publically bad mouth someone, behind their backs? Tell me, whose feelings should be considered more, the victim or the attacker? I'd say Helix was being generous with her decision, and she is one of the many people who give DoS a good name. Now, I think you should go to that little corner where Helix pointed you to. Whine, kick, scream, whatever... also, think about that in the future, your actions will not go unnoticed. With utmost sincerity, ± Var Medici-Giovanni

And as for all of you standing by and watching this happen, that is more sick than anything I have ever done. Nobody, nobody, has the right to judge my actions.Kayne~The problem here is, you are wrong. Everyone has the right to judge your actions for themselves, and some of us have the duty to do so for the populace, as Lady Girvin has here, and as I have for the league. The specific words you used to describe Lady Nitesong were despicable, uncouth, unwarranted, and deserving of the censure you have received. If you fail to understand this, then Lady Girvin may find that her ruling on this matter falls short of the mark.Unlike mine. A list of duelers suspended from the Team Dueling League until further notice, at my personal discretion, will be forthcoming.~irm

Master Rune,

Twould seem you are missing the point here.

You say you are judged unfairly. You claim justice isn't blind in your case and try to convince to DoS community that you had no intention of hurting Alais with your actions. You cry poor me as those around you scream foul. To this I say hog wash!

You took the liberty of attacking the integrity of one of the finest callers in this realm. You maligned her, the sport, and those around you in what was nothing less than a back biting session between you and your cronies. I have not sent you any hate mail, nor have I flamed you upon these boards. As for the judgement of the forum, it was caused by the outcry of the peoples of RhyDin. Point your finger where you like, point it at me as well, for I
agree with the populus. Your actions, and those of the others gathered were unwarranted and unwanted. If you look for a place to lay the blame for your less than just punishment. look in a mirror. Point that finger at the reflection, for there in lies the blame.

Were I your judge, you would not be welcomed again to this place. Call me callous if you will but I feel you were let off far too easy. I do however feel there were not enough names on the list. I am sorry that you and Zaradda were the only two people to pay for this act.

You may find a more sympathetic ear when you find it in your heart to properly apologize to the Lady Alais, not this feign at sincerity. Try being a man and and owning up to your actions without using this board to justify your actions.

::smiles::

Two thumbs up. Now at least I see that all goods deeds don't go unpunished, but some bad ones too. This punishment won't make Rad or Kayne happy, unless the punishment profitted them. But if that were true, the rest of our fellow duelers would be unhappy. You see, most of these cases are a lose-lose situation. We need not piss them off so they don't come back, but punish them accordingly so that they see the wrongs of their ways. I believe
this is a fair and just ruling. And by the way, Kayne... Even free speech has it's limitations.

::wanders up and tacks her own bit::Kayne and Rad, Kayne, I know it bothers you a bit more than it will bother Rad, he said as much in the arena. (The bashing Log). Ya had to know what might come of such accusations. That slamming an RDI was going to bring about alot of anger. You had to know, that running about spewing hatred would bring a whole mess of trouble upon ya. All you can do right now, is take your medicine and learn from it. Rad, I can almost hear ya in the background, What could you possibly say that might surprise us? Nothing. We've heard your rhetoric a million times, and frankly, it's getting real old. Learn some respect. I wonder how it is that you've lived this long not having any. Apologize to the lady, and try to behave.~Lady Aja Bird Dragonbane~ ~Dueler of the DoS~

::slaps a note to the board::Men are men and boys are boys.Personally I think it unconcionable to see such a half hearted apology. "I'm sorry but..." is not nor has it ever been an apology. My Da taught me one thing, if ye make the bed be prepared to lie upon it. You two boys act as if your actions would be justified anywhere? Ha! I have heard those talk of the *fines* as well as suspension laid on those who verbally attack a referee in sports called football, baseball, basketball, and soccer. If youopen your mouth in a public place you have to expect someone to hear it and the fact that you even *began* to question any callers integrity. Where I come from you'd spend a night and a day against a post for actions such as you carried on in that challenge match and then ye'd apologize to Alais. One last note, if ye are leaving Zaradda, as you stated months ago was your intention, ye really should start packing and quit instigating unrest. It would a good deal more for both of your reputations if ye learned to watch more and talk less, the mark of a wise man.~Brian Girvin::walks away thinking how irionic that someone that sounds *so* much like Draven is talking about thinking for yourself::
