Challenge for the Ninth
From: sgtsneggle@aol.com (SgtSneggle)
Date: 15 Jan 2003 17:44:17 EST
To the dueling community,
I continue in my quest to wrest the Ring of the Ninth from Cassius Maxim. To this end I offer challenge. My peer wins have been forwarded to the governing body of the Duel of Swords for confirmation. Once that has been given details as to time, place, and location will be provided.

::For quite awhile he stands by the boards holding two missives, uncertain and a bit numbed that he will again have to wade through others to get to Cas. Personally he feels Dalila has kicked him in the stomach and his anger boils. He wonders what is honorable to wish both the combatants well on the one hand and then state that she will intercede if asked.
Posts both the missives and shrugs, hoping the readers of them will understand what he feels::

Lorance, I wish you luck, for I believe you shall make a fine Baron if victorious. My personal desire would be that your attempt come against one much less deserving of their title, of course, but I shall not pass judgment on your reasons, for they are not my business, nor my concern. I am aware Cassius is not well-liked by all. However, I find him to be a good man, as worthy of the title he holds as you would be, should fate smile upon your attempt to wrest the ring from his grasp.
Therefore, I feel it necessary to inform you that I shall allow him to determine whether or not an Intercession should be used. Should he say yes, I ask that you not take it as a personal slight; he has taken a public stance of loyalty to me, despite misgivings by many, and I must support him if that is his desire. Were it a truly unworthy candidate pressing challenge, nothing short of an outright demand to remain a spectator would keep me from entering the ring on his behalf.

Collie,
I think G was asking who the honorable men are.

If the challenge is during a time I am available, I would have no qualms with either officiating or standing in on Lorance's behalf, should the Overlady intercede.
Of course, I could be way off base, but there's my offer.
