<< And how can you know such an event will occur if you don't know who's got the blade? >>

I thought that the question of who has the blade was answered when I wrote that. The blade is in my possession.

So, you just said this....

>I thought that the question of who has the blade was answered when I wrote
>that. The blade is in my possession.

Which means that when you said this...

> I pity whoever has it in their possession for it is the blade of a dishonorable man."

and this...

> Contrary to popular belief (though I am not sure that Jak is too popular) I do not have the sword.

You were lying.

Just wanted to clear that up.

Just goes to show, you can't trust an elf.

Funny...I haven't met an orc I could trust, either.

Shoot straight, conserve ammo, never cut a deal with a dragon, never trust an elf, choose your enemies carefully.

I do pity myself for it is indeed the blade of a dishonorable man, and the blade was not in my hand when I wrote any of these letters. I am no liar.

G, in reply to your missive.

<<
Okay, by who's laws is this? If he loses he's guilty, wins he was okay to kill? What's next? Do we start pulling out witchcraft tests? If the witches accused drown they weren't witches, if they float they were? What else? I'm sure there's all sorts of historical crap we c >>

Jjustification is not really necessary. I considered Kate a friend I avenge my friends. At least I do not subscribe to lofty statements about honor, truth, etc. I have suffered a wrong and I seek redress.

<< Snegs, I never really liked you, I think you know that, but even this is kinda beneath you. >>

Whether you like me or not does not really matter, we coexist and share the same interests to greater or lesser degrees.

<< And if Unagi doesn't answer you within ten days, what then? >>

Why I shall go hunting him of course, I would have thought you knew that.

Cas,

I have been away. I came back to find a friend of mine had been murdered and I had to think on it. I thought and have acted according to my own lights.

I think the gods watch over such things and the gods will judge the truth of the matter. If I am found lacking, then it is my failure nobody else's. If I win I have at least taken a measure of revenge. Perhaps the dead never know such things, mayhaps they do.

You talk about your record, that is meaningless since you are powerless to stop me. I have fought you three times and have lost that is a fact, but again in this situation it is a pointless one.

Unagi will have guilt and shame riding him and that may be his downfall.

Your words were pretty clear. "I do not have the sword."

Not "I do not have the sword in my hand." Nor even "I do not have the sword in my left hand behind my back at this moment."

You said. "I do not have the sword." The meaning of such a statement is perfectly clear. Or at least it is to any honest person.

You have sought to deceive, and are therefore a liar. Condemned by your own words.

This 'as got tae be th' funniest thing said so far: "Unagi will have guilt and shame riding him and that may be his downfall."

Obviously, ye've nae been payin' any attention tae what's been written 'ere...

Where Unagi comes from, what 'e did was right, just an' honorable.
Seems tae me thet means he won't be feelin' any guilt or shame at all. Ifin yer countin' on thet tae help ye win... ye've already lost.

v And to your good friend, Collie, the battle of wits is

Arane,

I see you have attempted to fill Jonalyn's shoes as the master of putting people in their place. You aren't even in her league. Go take lessons.

As for my horses, they are far better company than your husband apparently enjoys.

"As for my horses, they are far better company than your husband apparently enjoys."

Ouch.

Because Jona was mentioned, though, I'll help the nostalgic:

"And to your good friend, Collie, the battle of wits is over, my dear. You've been deemed a tired old hag and set out to pasture with your beloved horses. Please remain there."

In the Jona tongue:
An' t' thee, my dear Collie, th' battle o' wits i' o'er. Thine place ist amongst the weary hags se' out tae graze wi' thine horses. If thee wouldst be kin' enough tae stay there.

I weep as I write this, for I truly miss the magical quill.
