He hoped that the shot would only clip the rat, enough to rob him of his stamina and get into his head. Then, a Unagi rat on display in a cage, The Roman discomfited and Unagi shamed in his own eyes for being defeated.

Kate was dead, Unagi murdered her. Simple enough, The death of Unagi would pay blood-price and be done with it.
