Unfinished business

The not-so-elf was getting redressed back in the locker room, mulling over recent events, when something out of the corner of his eye got his attention. Looking out the only window, he noticed PJ, doing her normal little "walking home to wait for Max" routine, but with a twist. . .the two things behind her could only be described as friendly by someone with a severe lack of distance vision and a hefty dose of stupidity. The Cat-Woman bringing up the rear behind them only served to further cement the resolution that someone was basically up to no good. Expecially since he'd seen her talking to the Egyptian, of all people. Thinking semi-quickly, he recorded a small message about some unfinished business coming up and sent it to the phone on Chaz' bike. Then, taking to the rooftops, he did some following of his own, just to see what was going on and if he had any way to stop it. . .

PJ walked out of the duels a bit late and with a bit too much to drink. She was minding her own business while walking down a particularly deserted street, when a black cat stepped out of the shadows and looked up at her. She smiled at the cat and crouched low to call it to her, thinking it was the same cat she had fed earlier. Suddenly, she found herself roughly back up on her feet. Two pairs of large hands were holding her. There was no struggle as she froze when she saw her attackers.

To anybody witnessing the scene, it looked as if she had been wrapped in darkness.

Xeno was going after Shakira and PJ, and there was Anubis about to follow them out, too. Quickly the fairy stepped into Anubis' way and asked him for a duel. The request was denied, of course. But the necessary seconds were gained.

Not that it did any good. Before too long Xeno returned. He was winded, but had not been able to catch up to PJ or Shakira.

Now Max was about to go home to check if PJ made it safely, with or without the black cat. Topaz was not about to let him face the demon alone.

PJ was not at home. It was time to head for the dojo and see what Xeno might scry of PJ's whereabouts - and for a way-overdo exchange of information.

He cursed under his breath, noting PJ pick up the cat and disappear. . .even from his exceptional night vision. . .he remembered something about Xeno having some kind of history with this cat-thing, and made a note to remind him to have a talk with the fellow. . .as for the cat and the Egyptian, he'd be having a different type of talk with them. . .a talk concerning broadheads and bullets. . .
