Most would say, this wasn't the best way to wake up. . .
Then again, most wouldn't even be in this situation. . .
But, creeping back into consciousness with a whole lot less clothing than when you started and having a woman pin you down and throw nutripacks at you still doesn't rank up there with the best parts of waking up.
He pondered this while he laid there, in the back room of the Armory. The severe verbal reaming of a few minutes ago seemed almost. . .surreal. It almost reminded him of what PJ would do if she were the one who found him. She would've beat on him more, though. Friends who actually gave a rat's hoop whether or not you disappeared was a new concept to him. It just didn't fit in to his general worldview. Then he remembered, he wasn't *in* his world anymore. And even though she *was* from his world, she was cut from a vastly different cloth than most of the chummers he knew.
He still didn't know what to do, but he felt a whole lot calmer about it. His last thought before slipping back into napland was that it was decidedly odd what you happened to find when you weren't looking for it. . .
Serendipity. . .(not the movie)
