A demand for action (Ria/RDI Singer)

Ria had spent the better part of the last week in bed, recovering from the broken rib she had suffered at Lisana's hands. Finally, when she was able to move around without any major difficulty, she went to her office and penned a note, scowling as she wrote every word.

Rask, and to whom it may concern:

Last week I was working in the Outback on my scheduled shift, and was viciously assaulted by the witch known as Lisana Colestae. I admit I spoke harshly to her, but that is no reason for a woman to go and start a bar-room brawl with one of the staff members while *on-duty*. I demand action be taken by the Duel of Fists staff, and upon retaining the services of a lawyer, will be formally pressing charges against Lisana Colestae for assault and
battery.

Upset,

First, she delivered the original to Rask, leaving it on his desk, a copy kept for her own personal records. Then, moving to the Duel of Fists board, she left a copy there, its purpose to not only inform the general public of Lisana's actions, but to try to hire the services of a lawyer. Being new still to Rhydin, she had heard there was no formal court system, and had no real clue how to find a lawyer. Maybe this would work....

Flipping through the various notes left on the message board Jeshy stopped when she fell upon the note by this Alexandria character's retelling of being brutally attacked by Lisana she read on, it was said.
Still vividly remembering the threatening of her life from this 'Lisana' because she merely sat on a pillow Jeshy decided she had to do something! Being a skilled lawyer, only in her mind, the local freak took one of the less interesting posts off of the board, flipped it over and wrote on the back in reply to this note.

Madame Alexandria,
I too have been verbally attacked by this Lisana Colestae. I would be glad to stand as your lawyer in court. Talk to me about all that mombo jumbo of suing and such.

Sincerely,
Jeshy

Her duty done for the day Jeshy tacked the note up beside the originally one and strolled off towards the nearest library, she had some studying to do...if she was really going to pose as a lawyer.

Finally James had enough strength return to him after his poisining to make his rounds of the message boards. He casually glanced over the new one's he saw, a finger moved to lightly tap his still pale chin as he read over the message from Ria and the reply to it. "Hmm now, should I or nae..."

He continued to rap his finger on his chin as he pondered over it. Finally he decided what the heck, might as well reply, seeing as he himself had been used. He quickly went about finding a piece of paper to write on, unfortunatly he didn't have a pen with him so he had to settle for the colored pencil someone must have left there, a long long time ago it would seem too as it was covered with dust.

Dear Ms. Wells,

It pains me to hear that such has happened to you. Though I do admit to nae knowing Mrs. Colestae that greatly I did nae see her as such a person but then again it is probably to be expected I guess. But anyways that is not why I am writing this.

I would offer you my help if'n you could use it. Though nae am I a official lawyer as such, then again how does one become an official lawyer in these lands? What I can say though is that I have argued many a cases of injustice though not in a courtroom. If'n you could use my help then all you need do is contact myself.

Sincerely,
Sir James LightFoot.

The elf grinned as he tacked the note up to the board, actually hoping that the lady would reply to him. Ah it would be sweet, even if a bit vengefull to get back at the wife of the man who used him when he was passed out with nae his permission. With this he stepped from the boards, moving back through the double doors towards home to gain a little rest before the night. This being the first night in
awhile that he is actually going to be aloud to go out.

Ria had taken some time to allow responses, both public and private. She wandered to the board every day, looking for someone who might have offered help since her last visit.

After almost a week of waiting, she took down the two reponses and truly read them. The first was from some .... Jeshy person. Something was odd about the response, and while Ria was no lawyer herself, she knew what to not look for in a lawyer. She sat at the table to pen a response.

Jeshy:

While I appreciate the offer, I must decline the opportunity to retain your services as my lawyer. I think a lawyer should be one who has not been involved with either party in such a manner, especially as a person who has been verbally attacked.

However, once again, thank you for offering.

With respect;

Something about the words "mumbo jumbo" had also made Ria cautious of this "Jeshy," and she shook her head, murmuring to herself. "This isn't meant to be a mockery, this is a serious matter."

Setting aside the letter to Jeshy to send later, she then turned her attention to James Lightfoot's response. Her brows rose as she contemplated his words. This man, he was much more a promising prospect. Maybe even without a real lawyer, she, combined with him, could plead her own case. Quickly she wrote a letter in reply.

Sir James Lightfoot:

I would like to meet with you to discuss this matter at your convenience.

Thank you.

She didn't know she had seen James several times in the last week, she had not made the connection between his letter and his public address of her in the Outback. After all, many people called her Ms. Wells.

Standing, she left the Outback with her two short letters to see them sent privately to the addressees.

Humming, she went around town to look for a library to begin some sort of legal research.

The elf had returned again to read the board of messages at the outback, he came upon Ria's response to his own. Pale lips curling into a amused grin as he read it over, finding it amusing that they lady still did not know who he was. That and the fact of the brush off she gave him the other night when he tried to get her to stay after her shift was over to introduce himself. A slight shrug was given as
he penned a response to the Lady.

Dearest Ms Wells,

First I should say we have met afore, I actually tried to introduce myself to you, but you ran off to bed before I got the chance the other eve. As to when we could meet, I am usually done with my duties and free anytime at night. Just name a time and we could meet in the outback, then perhaps go someplace private to speak. I hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely,
Sir James LightFoot

Ok, so his answer wasn't all that thought out, or that grand, but hey his sister had followed him into the outback and was proceeding to talk his ear off with her ramblings. Even as he tried to explain he needed a moment to write a note. So he simply just drooped his shoulders, glancing over what he had written once more, deciding it would do.

With that he gave a pale wave of his hand to his sister towards the double doors. They both then proceeded to exit the outback, back home to continue there talk, or shall we say her rambling.
