Rask's wanderings, part 2

((continued from the Duel of Swords message board ))

:: The Outback. Rask strolled into it as he had done countless times in the past five years. It was currently, and often, destroyed. How many times had he seen various forms of destruction occur in this place? The bar had been burned down, but by who Rask would swear he didn't know. Rings had been blown up, cut down and built up again. Things always seemed to be changing around the Outback.

It never looked as ... constant as the Arena. Rask got the feeling that the Arena would always be there in its present form. The Outback on the other hand ... who could tell if it would be there at all tomorrow.

But, over the past five years the Outback had become his home. He didn't like the fighting, wouldn't even think of getting into a ring in a real fight. And it certainly wasn't a profitable business. Sure, Rask had managed to put away a little money here and there, but there was always another debt. Always someone else trying to collect. Nevertheless, something about the Outback was comfortable to Rask.

And soon he would be moving on. Once he began his duties as the Coordinator of the three duels, his time in the Outback would be lessened. Again, he thought that maybe it was time for some kind of event. Yes, soon the Outback would have its Mega Brawl. But that was mainly focusing on the people of the Outback. Rask was thinking of something where those that battled with swords, fists and Magic could get together with each other.

For the second time this hour, he reminded himself to be patient. Wait until things were settled and then move on. His mother had always told him, make sure you have all of your ducks in order. He never knew what it meant, but it seemed to apply here ::(( to be continued on the Duel of Magic message board))

(( OOC note: two reasons for this post. First, while it might be a little bit of time before we can organize a big IC event for everyone, remember that the community has an OOC meeting regularly scheduled. In fact, there is one coming up this Thursday, April 20th at 9 p.m.. It's the perfect chance for everyone to get together and talk about their ideas, comments, problems, concerns or whatever. so, keep your eye on the community meeting schedule.
Community Meeting Schedule I hope to see you there.

Second, if any of you have any ideas for an event that would not be restricted to a single dueling area (( something in which anyone from the Arena, Outback or Isle can participate in )) let me know! =) I will certainly work on getting something organized. ))
